Many controllers can get their ARGB signals from USB 2.0 headers and third party software instead of a dedicated header and motherboard software (Such as Corsair or NZXT, but I dont know of any brands that work with standard ARGB equipment off the top of my head.)

Correct. A 5v ARGB device (fan, LED strip, etc) plugged into a controller that only receives an 12V RGB and converts it to a 5V signal can ONLY display that single color. It is not able to display multiple colors like a normal ARGB connected device would. Depending on what you plan to power with that, you might consider regulation and electrical isolation.

I’m trying to develop a project for TEG’s where I’m gathering electrical energy from various sources. As this is an Adjustable version of step up voltage regulator/ boost converter, we have to select the value of output voltage (here 12v) which is directly dependent on voltage determining resistors (here R5 and R6).

You can actually build this with op-amps/555s/resistors/diodes and a decent MOSFET (n channel) and if you are not that bothered about super high effciency then a NPN can replace the MOSFET.

This design has a 22µF “output” capacitor. But I already have a 100µF capacitor as an “entry” to the A4988 stepper. PCB space is VERY limited for me. Can I just use the 100µF and drop the 22?
