I don't really read a lot of plays/musicals and if I do read them, they aren't usually in this genre. But during my GCSEs, this was one of the plays selected for me to study for my exams- so basically I was forced to read this. However, I was surprised that I did enjoy this a little. Thanks mister Chacour for broadening, and changing, my perspective with your personal story. Thanks for emphasising the importance of a balanced stand against violence from all sides and thanks for reigniting a tiny glimmer of hope for peace when people who follow Jesus aim to be spokespeople for reconciliation.

I found this to be quite fast paced which I loved. I'm really glad that I chose to reread this book. It is such a heartbreaking and tragic story. Douglas Mayo has had a life long love affair with musical theatre. He has authored several books on publicity and marketing for amateur theatre groups. Incredibly, Ryker, Heath, and Denver are not brothers by blood, but life has made them closer than family. All the brothers come with their unique skills, and it is these skills that have set them apart and made them successful in their business. Ryker is the muscle, and fighting bad guys come naturally to him. Heath is the PR person, while Denver, who prefers to stay behind the scenes, is the Tech guy. Together, the trio is nothing but powerful, and the prowess in investigative matters is evident throughout this book. Their abilities and work have earned them a few enemies who are keen to eliminate them and destroy their business.

The relationship with the 2 mothers was also really interesting to see and their development was really enjoyable to witness- you could almost see them manipulating and breaking throughout different scenes. I also really enjoyed Sammie, he was quite comical, but also violent. I really really enjoyed this book. The first time I read this it was during my GCSE's. I loved it as much then as I still do now. Certainly seems more engaging for a teenage audience than An Inspector Calls - albeit I enjoy teaching that text. I think it is somewhat more vital and relevant than Delaney’s ‘A Taste if Honey’ although I really enjoyed the national theatre revival of that play I saw in September last year.The West End production of Blood Brothers ran for 24 years where it became the third longest-running musical in West End running for over 10,000 performances.
