i’m being generous with 2/5. author may has a lot to learn in terms of their writing or they can dedicate themselves to marketing because there’s no other way this book got popular with the atrocity that was the world building and the characterization. ao3 has more heartbreaking, moving stories that are being published for free for no other reason than passion. this book proves that anyone can get anything published despite the bad writing as long as they have money.We knew when we started the Beasts of the Briar series that Book 2 and beyond would focus on the realms and a specific prince! There is just something about the princes they do have appeal although it took time to get past Keldarion's harsh attitude and Ezryn's dismissive one. Farron was great, I absolutely loved him from the beginning while I didn't know quite what to think about Dayton. But that was just their surface level, they have a surprising amount of layers that are unveiled as the story goes. And every moment I am not touching you, it eats my soul inside out, tearing me apart, until merely looking at you is an anguish I would only wish upon my worst enemy.”
