About this deal

In Cuban Dominoes you are able to pass even when you have a legitimate play. When all four players pass in a row, the round is over. Otherwise, the player takes a domino from the boneyard. If possible, the new domino from the boneyard is played to one of the available trains (see below) and that is the end of the turn. Each player continues taking a turn. Any player with a 12 domino (engine) can lay it down off the double-twelve domino (train station) in the center anytime it is his turn to start a Mexican train. Mark the 12 half of this Mexican train starter domino with a marker to remind others they also can play on this new Mexican train whenever it is their turn. Unlike most other games of dominoes, Mexican Train requires some other equipment. Firstly, a special hub is used that has a slot in the middle for the starting double and 8 slots around its edge to start each domino train. Hubs range from expensive manufactured items that go 'Toot Toot' when pressed to home-made efforts that take only a couple of minutes to cut out from a piece of cardboard. Game sets sold commercially may have a center hub that is used as the "roundhouse" or "station" from which the trains will be built. This hub will have a fitting where the double domino is placed. If playing without this hub, simply use the double domino itself as the roundhouse. Draw Dominoes

Moderately and higher-priced dominoes are usually made from more substantial plastics or resins which have the look and feel of ivory. If a double is played, and the player leaves a train ending in a double, then after the end of that player's turn the next domino played by the next player must be played on that double. In learning how to play dominoes it’s helpful know the lingo. Here’s an overview of key dominoes terms: Dominoes Rally - This Superb Set Contains Everything Needed To Set Up And Express Speed Dominoes Rally In Your Home A variation on the above Doubles rule that a player who plays a Double and who thus has immediately has another turn, is not for this bonus turn required to play against a Double. The player can play against any available train. This of course means that a player can play several Doubles in a row, so that players over the next few turns need to play against two or more Doubles before they can continue in the more normal fashion.

Cuban Dominoes is a partner game. Partners are usually chosen at random using any method the players want. If the opening tile scores, mark it down to end the player’s turn. The person to the left can now place a tile with a matching number of spots on either end. The remaining tiles are placed in the boneyard within easy reach of all players. Muggins is always played as cutthroat. The Play:

To play on your iPhone or iPad, visit the App Store. For Android tablets, visit the Play Store. A Kindle Store version is also available. The origin of the name ‘dominoes’ has puzzled many players throughout the years. No one knows for sure when or how dominoes got their name. There are a whole lot of extended variations for playing Doubles. Masters Traditional Games does not recommend these rules for beginners, children or people preferring more straightforward play as they add extra complexity to the game and new situations that slow the game down somewhat. Your row of dominoes is your"personal train". You want to keep that closed to competitors as long as possible. Usually, a series of games are played and whoever has the least points at the end of the series, wins the match.

Upon reaching Europe, dominoes was significantly altered from the more sophisticated Chinese game. The duplicate tiles were removed and replaced with tiles containing blanks. If there are 8 players, then there won't be a slot available on the hub for the Mexican Train so it has to start by itself a little way away from the hub. Many people find Professional or Jumbo dominoes to have the right combination of size, heft, and readability for everyday play, but smaller dominoes may be more appropriate for young children or for those who have a more limited playing area. On each following turn, one domino is played per turn unless a double is played, allowing for two turns.

If player #1 has no possible play on their own train, they may alternately start the "Mexican Train" if they have another domino that matches the pip-count of the central engine. This new Mexican train is a "public" train that is free for all players to play on for the duration of the game. Doubles are any tile that show the same number of pips on each side. Playing a double grants you another turn, but must be “closed” by playing another tile on them before you can play anywhere else. Play a domino that matches the pip-count of the exposed half of the previous domino played on their own train. For example, if player #1 has played a 12-5 domino in the first round, they can now play a domino that has 5 pips on the end of their train. If player #1 has a double domino matching the exposed pip-count, it is played crosswise (perpendicular) across the exposed half of the previous domino.Make the longest train possible with the dominoes in your hand. This is done in front of you with the dominoes on edge so your opponent(s) can't see what you have.
