About this deal

This hairy beast is not as cute as it might appear! In actual fact, however, in Doctor Who the Yeti were robots created by The Great Intelligence in the Second Doctor era (The Great Intelligence would go on to return and face the Eleventh Doctor and Clara in Series Seven). Appearing in 1930s Tibet and then in the Underground in Sixties London, the Yeti are a fearsome foe whose war cry sounds not unlike a very slow toilet flush. A Yeti also made a brief cameo in 20th Anniversary Special, The Five Doctors, but it’s unclear if this was real or robot… Read more here. Must Watch Stories:

Classic creatures the Silurians were here long before the human race and didn’t look too kindly upon our kind. The Third Doctor sympathised with their cause when we first met them in 1970. In the Eighties, they teamed up with the Sea Devils for the Fifth Doctor tale, Warriors From the Deep. In recent times, the Eleventh Doctor befriended Silurian Madame Vastra who described herself as a “lizard from the dawn of time”! She, with her wife Jenny and the Sontaran Strax shared numerous adventures with that particular regeneration and one with his successor, the Twelfth Doctor. Read more here. Doctor Who: The 13 Doctors Collection (Mr Men Doctor Who Pack)

The figurines mirror characters in the Dr Men book series, which is published by Penguin Random House, and sees Doctor Who and The World of Hargreaves in a brand mashup bringing to life Doctor Who characters in the distinctive story-telling and illustrative style of Roger Hargreaves. Doctor Who and the Mr. Men & Little Miss books combine to make an excellent way to introduce young ones to the Doctor! In this installment, the fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane run and run and run away from the Daleks. There are a host of familiar Doctor Who monsters, villains and friends joining the various Doctors as you can see in the above picture. Let’s take a look (from left to right), who’s who in the world of Dr. Men Dr. Fourth is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Adam Hargreaves and is a part of the Doctor Who Meets Mr Men and Little Miss series, which tells a story about the Fourth Doctor on the run with his companion, Sarah Jane Smith, from the Daleks who are chasing them. Today is National Dr Who/T.A.R.D.I.S. Day (23 November) and I thought it would be apropos to read this today. The renegade Time Lord, once a friend of the Doctor, has made many memorable appearances over the decades in the show. And, like the Doctor, the Master can also regenerate, and has been played by a number of actors since his 1971 debut; including John Simm (who first appeared alongside the Tenth Doctor) and most recently Michelle Gomez (who called herself Missy). Ever the trouble-maker, the Master has often teamed up with the Cybermen and even the Daleks! Read more here. Must Watch Stories:

Hargreaves not only captures their characters nicely (even makes Adric a bit annoying - or was that a bit of projection on my part? :) ), but fits them all into one short Mr Man length story. But look out, it's the ascendingly-challenged Daleks and, with the exception of Dale the Dalek whose more akin to a handwhisk than a Dalek, they're hell-bent on exterminating Dr. Fourth and anything that stands between them (except moving traffic, of course.) Join all thirteen Doctors - from Dr. First to Dr. Thirteenth on amazing adventures through time and space.

The other thing I was pleased about was that there was a returning baddie! Not that I want to give it away, let's just say this baddie had already turned up to menace a later Doctor (So, I guess, he's not returning in this story, as such, but you know what I mean). Dr. Fifth is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Adam Hargreaves and is a part of the Doctor Who Meets Mr Men and Little Miss series, which tells a story about the Fifth Doctor being trapped by the Master in the most dastardly places on Earth – a supermarket. Trapped with him are his companions Tegan Jovanka, Adric, and Nyssa. Today is National Dr Who/T.A.R.D.I.S. Day (23 November) and I thought it would be apropos to read this today. He could have gone with a later team-up , but this one (with Nyssa, Tegan & Adric) is the most well-known, I'm sure y0u would agree. Next month sees the release of the next four titles in the Dr. Men book range, celebrating two of the world’s most iconic franchises, Doctor Who and Mr. Men. This is the list of the Mr. Men characters that have been released in French but not translated into English yet.The text is rather simple and straightforward. Hargreaves aptly captured the essence of the Fourth Doctor's whimsical charm fairly well. I love that the Jelly Babies features rather frequently in the text. The illustrations are a perfect combination between the Doctor Who and the Mr Men and Little Miss universes. The Fourth Doctor depicted really looks like Tom Baker from the Mr Men and Little Miss universe. I was more emphasising that it’d be a Dr. thing. For example, the Dr. books don’t say it’s in Mr. Men book. It’s kinda it’s own little thing, so I imagine for Jodie it’d be the same. Neither Mr. Men or Little Miss.
