proposing changes to grammar and vocabulary to improve consistency, including the accurate use of pronouns in sentences This dragon writing project teaches pupils how to write non-chronological reports through the fantasy topic of dragons. It can be further applied to real dragons such as the Chinese water dragon and the Komodo dragon. The unit begins with a pre-written text to teach pupils how to develop their own writing. The second part of the unit focused on shared writing and modelled sentences (based on Alan Peat). The last section leads to independent writing. Once food is found, on occasion the predator does not kill it's prey, but plays with it. Often you will see one or two (if it has a mate) flinging its still live prey hundreds of feet or yards into the air. The reason for this is uncertain, how ever there are theories. One is that this is a mating ritual. Although the fact that mates do it as well leaves scientists baffled. The best theory is that is both play (for one) and a contributed game (for the mates). As a class, your children will focus on how to make their writing interesting and engaging for the reader, by using varied sentence starters, carefully chosen adjectives, and conjunctions to link ideas. They will then apply these skills when beginning to write their non-chronological report. It lives in mountains, simply put. It prefers its home land of Europe, but it will also take other regions similar in climate in terrain. The European Dragon also enjoys peat bogs, such as Ireland, and remote, northern islands far away from civilization. Conifer forests are another favorite of this dragon.

In this lesson, children will be encouraged to think about what questions they might ask to find out more information about their as yet unhatched dragon! DRAGONOLOGY is the study of anthropology via the mode and application of decoding symbolic expression, rather than through the traditional context of standardized textbook doctrine presented by educational institutions of the dominant CULTure. In this final lesson, your class will focus on the layout features of a non-chronological report as they present a final copy of their work. First, your class will work together to discuss improvements for a variety of different given sentences, before applying this skill to their own draft paragraphs from the previous lesson. In their independent activities, children analyse and edit their own work, or if you choose the FSD? option, they read and make suggestions for improvement to their peers' writing. DRAGONOLOGY is meant as a replacement titular for the word MYTHOLOGY, as it is indeed a far more accurate expression of this particular area of study pertaining to CULTural anthropology, past societies, their rituals, and respective traditions.

Being the classical dragon, it is large in size, as the majority of dragons are. This dragon is usually around 40-45 feet long, although several very large European Dragons have measured an enormous 55 feet long. The dragon is also usually 13-17 feet tall, but once again, the larger specimens can be 20 feet tall.In this lesson, children will use their imagination skills to write answers to the questions about their dragons that they generated in the previous lesson. As a class, they will be reminded of how to record information in note form, as well as playing a short game focusing on the use of technical language, before independently organising their information into a plan for a non-chronological report. This video was made by Javerage's Face and used with permission. It does contain some factual errors and is provided only for an engaging introduction to the subject. The European Dragon's head is not bare like that of a typical lizard. Although variations occur, the European dragon can have spikes, horns and frills on top of its head. Occasionally, older dragons grow larger nose horns, and even sometimes horned frills around the cheeks. in non-narrative material, using simple organisational devices [for example, headings and sub-headings] The unit can be run over a couple of weeks and is fully inline with the expectations for Year 5 and 6.
