A recording of the live action Fireman Sam stage play, which ran in certain theatres throughout the 1990s. During the rope bridge rescue, Sam accidently breaks one of the planks and grabs a rope that was previously meant to be fire to keep balance. When Flex sabotages the runaway bus scene, it's evening, but in the video that Sarah and Mandy recorded, it's the afternoon. Helen Flood makes a reference to the 1975 American thriller film Jaws, with the line "I think we need a bigger box." Jupiter's trailer comes loose on a cobbled street, but when it goes into the garage, the road is made of tarmac.

This special was released on the Roku channel in the US with the US dub and this is also the latest special to be dubbed in the US. The Roku Channel in the US then changed the special's dub with the UK dub, but the US dub can still be found somewhere. At the start of the tape, there is an advertisement for BBC Toybox magazines and the videos ' Toybox 1' and 'The Best of Noddy'.At one point Sarah mistakenly refers to her Uncle Sam as "Fireman Sam", though she did correct herself later on. Fireman Sam takes a rare day off and takes Sarah and James camping but when the bus catches fire, things go from bad to worse when the tent starts burning. On the Cover sleeve, BBC Video forgot to include Lost Ring in the episode listings, however, images from that episode are seen on the cover art.

The 1993 re-release has a 5 second slide advertising videos 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 plus The Very Best of Fireman Sam.Production wise, it is most likely that the first 12 episodes were originally made for this seasons' production between late 1986-1987, with the last 4 episodes being made much later on sometime in 1988, due to the fact that character models where given a slight update towards them (such as them being given new faces). The play has three acts, 'Fire Station Flood Alert' (loosely based on the episode, 'Bentley the Robot'), The 1993 re-release has a 5 second slide advertising videos 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 plus The Very Best of Fireman Sam. After Flex gets off the phone, the ocean rescue centre is further out into the sea than in the next scene.
