About this deal

Clare spent nearly a decade writing about life in the Cotswolds—the challenges and triumphs of living in the rural area with a young family. and a minor point, but zoe's boss getting angry about her terrified reaction when he reaches across her sleeping body to undo her seat belt when he is driving her home, knowing what she's been going through, is completely baffling. even if she wasn't already in a state of fear over the threats she'd been experiencing, it's completely bananas that a man she's not even particularly close to would think it was okay to do that. and to then get offended at her outrage and confusion. that's a pretty intimate gesture, and a hell of a thing to wake up to. a grown-ass woman can unhook her own seat belt, and it was an invasive and unnecessary gesture. was it meant to be a time-saver? bizarre. this is the kind of thing that bothers me as a reader - the only reason it's in there is to cast suspicion on him, and it's an inauthentic situation in any real-world scenario.

And now that man on the train—the one smiling at Zoe from across the car—could be more than just a friendly stranger. He could be someone who has deliberately chosen her and is ready to make his next move… If it's just the two of you. Just you, and whoever's behind you. Whoever is chasing you. How fast could you run then?" The only problem is that when confronted by the most life-changing choice of their lives, one that involves the future of their ailing son, the two fail to reach an agreement. Born in Bristol, England, she studied French and Management at the Royal Holloway University in Surrey, before joining the police force after graduating.A] well-crafted blend of calculated malevolence, cunning plot twists, and redemption that will appeal to fans of Sophie Hannah, Ruth Rendell, and Ruth Ware.”— Booklist (starred review)

The cops have every reason to believe that it was suicide. Anna, their daughter, believes that it was murder. Other women begin appearing in the same ad, a different one every day, and Zoe realizes they've become the victims of increasingly violent crimes—including rape and murder. With the help of a determined cop, she uncovers the ad's twisted purpose...a discovery that turns her paranoia into full-blown panic. For now Zoe is sure that someone close to her has set her up as the next target. This prompts her to start posing serious questions about the demise of her parents, bringing up memories from her tragic past. Accomplished, addictive and thought-provoking – you’ll never feel the same about taking the tube again’B A Paris

Very powerful story, chilling, and gripping, like her debut author a book so powerful it stays in your head, are you being watched? Zoe Walker has a very routine life that involves using the same route to the train station twice a day. In Clare Macintosh's new mystery-thriller, danger is always lurking around the corner, and 'someone' is always watching as fear overtakes Zoe Walker's everyday life. Among those believed to be on board are celebrities, with journalists expected to greet them at their destination. I was so mindful of reading this book. I have come across authors debut novels that have really made an impact on me then their subsequent book has fallen flat, so I opened this with trepidation, but I need not have feared because this author has a talent.

stars. That final ending really took me by surprise! By far, it was the best part of the story and made me add another half star to my rating. In my opinion, this novel was not as good as the author's debut, 'I Let You Go'. On top of that, Zoe has personal concerns. Zoe's son Justin, a computer nerd who works in a coffee shop - tends to sponge off his mother; Adele Parks MBE is one of the most-loved and biggest-selling women's fiction writers in the UK. She has sold over 4 million books and her work has been translated into 30 different languages. I'll just say this... you think you know someone....but DAMN............ and DAMN...... (I watch the ID channel... Investigation Discovery which is basically a crime/thriller tv channel for those of you that don't know.... and this really reminded me of something that you would see on there). Do you think you could ever really know, or trust, another human being? How about your friends? Your own family members?verifyErrors }}{{ message }}{{ /verifyErrors }}{{ Zoe hasn’t had the easiest start with relationships, having been married and divorced with two teenaged children and now living with Simon, a man whom she has brought in to live with her and her and her kids. Considering all that she has gone through she still comes across to me as being naive and trusting. The female characters stand out stronger than the men.....( but what's surprising about that?) lol. When Zoe first realized she was being followed, did you think she was being stalked by someone she knew or someone she didn't know?
