About this deal

The entry-level Gen 4 SSD market segment is, by its nature, rapidly becoming a highly competitive one. Aiming for a slice of the action is Kingston with its NV2 drive, a successor to the PCIe Gen 3×4 NV1 drive. A closer inspection of the device reveals that our 2TB-capacity NV2 uses a Silicon Motion SM2267XT controller, which is a relatively recent, value-oriented model launched in 2020 and designed for DRAM-less operation (by comparison, the non-XT SN2267 is for use with LPDDR4). This controller offers four NAND channels and is capable of 500K 4K random IOPS read/write throughput according to Silicon Motion. All of the drive’s four 512MB NAND memory modules are mounted on the same side. AS SSD is a great free tool designed just for benching Solid State Drives. It performs an array of sequential read-and-write tests, as well as random read-and-write tests with sequential access times over a portion of the drive. It uses We used CrystalDiskMark 8‘s custom settings to test the 4K random read performance of the drive through a range of queue depths. The setup for the tests is listed below. The first half of the module size is the width of the M.2 SSD and the second half is the length. The NV2 1 TB has a module size of 2280 which means it is 22 mm wide and 80 mm long.

Kingston doesn't provide any random performance figures on the specification sheet for the NV2. Using our 4-threaded tests, the best performance figure we saw for random reads was 201,266 IOPS (824.385MB/s) at QD32.The NV2 has the highest temperature output of all the SSDs I’ve tested. Granted, that’s the hot spot – with the NAND themselves operating at just around 60 ºC at full load. Still, this is enough to warrant the use of a cooler – a passive one will do. It does not throttle though so that’s something to be jolly about. Features KitGuru says: It may not set the world on fire with its performance and the hardware might be different from our review sample, but at the end of the day, it's still a 1TB Gen 4 drive for under fifty quid. Find out if the Kingston NV2 1 TB M.2 SSD (model SNV2S/1000G) is suitable for gaming based on read/write speed and other factors. Also, learn how SSDs like this one can enhance your gaming experience.

Kingston hasn't disclosed any official 4K random figures for the drive. The best results we saw came from a mix of data types. The best-read figure we saw, 201,561 IOPS came with the drive being tested with compressible data while the best write score of 401,239 IOPS came when the drive was dealing with incompressible data.CrystalDiskMark is a useful benchmark to measure the theoretical performance levels of hard drives and SSDs. We are using v8.0. Disclosure: Kingston sent the NV2 SSD for the purpose of this review. As usual, the company did not ask me to say anything particular about it.

The Kingston NV2 does reasonably well with Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker Official Benchmark sitting mid-table for all of the scene load results charts. It’s not just internet bandwidth you need, when using Microsoft Teams and Zoom. The hardware matters too. The NV2 2 TB has an expected lifespan of 80 TBW (terabytes written) and 1,500,000 hours MTBF (mean time between failures). is ismerheti: NV 2 1 TB M 2 PCIe NVMe SNV 2 S 1000 G, NV21TBM2PCIeNVMeSNV2S1000G, NV 2 1TB M.2 PCIe NV Me (SNV 2S/1000G), NV2 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe (SNV2S/1000 G) A "Megvásárolom" gomb megnyomásával az adott boltba történő átkattintás nélkül már az Árukereső.hu-n keresztül megrendelheti a kiválasztott terméket, leegyszerűsítve ezzel az online vásárlás folyamatát.

It also offers a great deal of value at a very reasonable price point. At the time of writing, you can find the 2TB NV2 for around the same price as a SATA SSD with the same capacity, or a high-end 1TB drive. Compared to the 2.5″ SATA alternatives, the choice is easy as the Kingston NV2 will run circles around any such drive. The first half of the module size is the width of the M.2 SSD and the second half is the length. The NV2 2 TB has a module size of 2280 which means it is 22 mm wide and 80 mm long. Available in capacities from 250GB – 4TB 2 to give you all the space you need for applications, documents, photos, videos and more. Kingston’s NV2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD is a substantial next-gen storage solution powered by a Gen 4x4 NVMe controller. NV2 delivers read/write speeds of up to 3,500/2,800MB/s with lower power requirements and lower heat to help optimise your system’s performance and deliver value without sacrifice. The compact single-sided M.2 2280 (22x80mm) design expands storage by up to 2TB while saving space for other components, making NV2 ideal for thinner notebooks, small-form-factor (SFF) systems and DIY motherboards. Available in capacities from 250GB - 2TB to give you all the space you need for applications, documents, photos, videos and more. Gen 4x4 NVMe PCIe performance. Price and use case scenario dictates why it is such a bland looking product. Now since this is a PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, I am interested to see the thermals. Test Setup and Methodology
