we have a Fuji FinePix and a slightly newer Kodak - similar price range. The old Fuji just wont go wrong, and is fine on 2 batteries. But the newer Kodak just eats the batteries in no time, to the point where you cant rely on the camera. Its batteries are always flat, even if left switched off. Always used Uniross 2500 batteries and no problem in the Fuji, but useless in the Kodak. So we bought a load of expensive regular batteries and put them in the Kodak, and same result. Calculating and comparing expected AA battery life is an inexact science - or rather, it’s one with so many possible variables that it doesn’t always appear a like-for-like comparison once you start weighing up different cell chemistries for different usage scenarios. In the end I sold it and bought a Panasonic which uses its own rechargable battery. It lasts for ever.
