About this deal

Suitable for many classic or modern cars, motorcycles or applications with standard filament / incandescent bulbs or LEDs or a mix of filament / incandescent bulbs and LED.

LED Flasher Relay 3 Pin, Indicator Flasher Relay, 12 Volt 3 LED Flasher Relay 3 Pin, Indicator Flasher Relay, 12 Volt 3

By adding resistors to the wiring you increase the wattage draw from the LED indicators to match what was there before, therefore your existing relay will continue to run as normal with a standard flash rate.Getting the right LED relay for your motorcycle in most cases just means pulling out your existing relay and buying an LED specific relay that matches the pin lay-out of your current relay. Looking to improve your flasher relay performance or are you considering or have you added LED indicator bulbs? Maybe you only want to change your rear indicators to LEDs and leave the front indicators standard, or you're struggling to find the right LED relay for your bike. If that's the case then you will need to fit resistors in your wiring circuit. Quality European manufactured replacement 3 pin/connector indicator relay to fit all models. Like the original units it also has a hazard function for models with a switch fitted. If your Triumph has a 3 pin flasher relay, this should work with all types of indicators LED or original bulb type. Fits all the Bonneville range carburettor models, Thruxton, T100, America, Speedmaster and Scrambler. Also fits EFI Bonneville range up to VIN 521668. Related products

Thank you for the excellent products. I’m very impressed with the attention to detail, quality of the execution and thoroughness I can see in all aspects. Fitting was extremely straightforward and the improvement in light quality is outstanding. Resistors get hot during operation, so wrapping them in tape can lead to resistor over heating or worse melting plastic parts around it. So, to slow your flashing down you have to make the wattage draw similar to how it was with the original indicators, and you can do this by fitting either a new indicator relay unit or with resistors. This unit is also excellent with most LED indicators. Unlike the original incandescent bulbs, LED lamps are polarity sensitive so you may need to try swapping the connections to each indicator to get the indicators to work okay. These electronic relays will keep your flash rate constant and keep it standard even if the load on the circuit changes. Standard relays will not flash at the correct rate with LED bulbs. The red/white wires connect directly to the +12v positive connection on the battery after passing through the ignition switch and scooter main fuse so is a perfect place to take the power supply for our LED indicator.

The voltage regulator/ flasher relay can be located in different places depending on which moped you have. On the Gilera Stalker used for this blog it is located behind the front fairing panel (behind the headlight). On a Piaggio Zip it is located behind the left hand rear panel (on the side of the seat). LED lights work using a lower wattage than normal bulbs, which is why when you plug them directly in to your existing indicator wiring you'll notice they flash a lot faster than normal and most probably a lot faster than the rate allowed for a UK MOT * This relay and it replaces the standard relay when you upgrade to LED lights. It corrects the indicators flashing too fast without the need to use a load resistors. This relay has been tested on Caterham’s with the Just Add Lightness LED lights. Why do I need this? You might have been put off making the change in the past because of all the talk about calculating wattage of bulbs and determining which units to buy, however it's not as difficult as it sounds. Fitting new LED indicators is an easy task for anyone with simple electrical knowledge. One of the problems with this is you have to get the resistor value just right. If you fit just rear LED lights and get them flashing correctly you may need to change the resistors for different value ones if you then late additionally upgrade the front indicators.

So you've finally decided to swap out those bulky OE indicators for some sleek new LED units; maybe because you want something brighter to keep you safe out on the road, or you want to make your bike look its age and not older. Resistors need to be fitted in parallel to the indicator, meaning one end connecting to the positive and one end connecting to the negative. We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. When it comes to upgrading your current indicators to an LED set, simply plugging in the new units isn't quite enough (although fitting them properly doesn’t require you to be a neuroscientist).

12V ELECTRONIC INDICATOR FLASHER / HAZARD RELAY CLASSIC CAR

Cut into the relay case, very carefully, and don't go deep. From about 1.5cm to 2.5cm from the top of the relay on the printed side, roughly where you should see >PBT+GF30<. Do not cut deep as the circuit board is only 3-4mm away from the plastic casing. a) install resistors (extra solder joints, bulky, generate heat, waste power, weigh a little bit, look fugly) The reason for this is that conventional flasher relays work by detecting how much current is being drawn by the indicator bulbs. Because LED bulbs draw far less current than conventional bulbs this confuses the flasher relay which may then flash at the wrong speed or not at all. Plug and play, even for a Caterham novice I got my indicators working immediately, and it’s future proof for the (inevitable) upgrades to LED lamps. A great price, and very fast delivery from a company dedicated to Caterham. A big thumbs up from me, thank you! LED lighting draws much less power (load) and lasts way longer than standard incandescent lighting. Replacement of indicator bulbs with LED’s will cause the indicators to flash too fast. This happens because your new LED lights draw such little power. Installing an LED flasher relay specifically designed for LED lights is the easiest method to solve this problem. What about load resistors?

Once you know you have the relay it's as simple as wiring your new motorcycle indicators in and plugging in your new relay! way they work out how fast to allow flashing is by the wattage of the system. When you fit LED indicators you adjust the wattage of the system and therefore need a new relay to suit (Or fit resistors). Suitable for many other classic or modern 12v cars or applications with standard filament / incandescent bulbs or LEDs or a mix of filament / incandescent bulbs and LED. These electronic relays will keep your flash rate constant and keep it standard even if the load on the circuit changes.
