About this deal

All this stuff is on sale, so if you find something you like and you’ve got a few quid to spare you can even treat this as a shopping trip. Perhaps there’s a special someone who would really like a piece of some of this precious metal…

My first ‘London Walks’ experience and it’ll be a tough act to follow. Adam our guide was both charismatic and engaging and kept our group very focused and involved. The sunny weather helped throw and unexpected but welcome brightness on the many Wren churches, their stained glass windows and of course the majestic St Pauls … and his anecdotes kept us amused too. I’m game for more of these London walks – so much to digest from the stimulating and numerous other tours also on offer. We’re NOT sorry about it. Not one jot. If we have to keep carping on about St Dunstan in the East until our last breaths before you guys listen to us and go, well, that’s a burden we are willing to carry. This walk is ideal if you’re into heritage architecture and great food. There are excellent coffee shops along the way, too. You can see a lot more walks in the book London’s Hidden Walks, too. You can get it here. It’s just the thing if you love exploring under-the-radar areas in the city. There are more ideas in my London walking books post as well. As such, it found itself as the centre of many a naughty activity including bear baiting, gambling and even duelling. Oh those crazy olden days people.Forgotten the title or the author of a book? Our BookSleuth is specially designed for you. Visit BookSleuth Next on my list of secret London walks is a themed London literary walk. This self-guided walk goes through several central London neighborhoods. Like the fact that there’s been a market here since the 14th century. At first it was just for butchers and fishmongers (both long gone) before it became one of London’s most important markets. Who really cares when the end result looks like the Garden of Eden but with more OTT architectural flourishes? I recently had the pleasure of going on London Walk’s walk titled “Hidden London with Adam”, and I had a wonderful time thanks to the tour leader, Adam. He knows the history of the area extremely well and was able to make it accessible, informative and entertaining for the group I was part of. You can’t go wring with London Walks in general, and Adam as a tour leader, to be specific. Absolutely something one should not miss!

I highly recommend this walk to both Londoners and visitors to London alike. There is a wealth of history in the City of London much of which is, as the name of the walk suggests, hidden! Shaughn was the perfect guide. His enthusiasm, humour and knowledge made for fun and interesting morning. I thoroughly enjoyed this walk! You’re probably aware of the British Library. It’s a bit of a Meca for people trying to find a quiet spot to get productive in the city centre, and an iconic place in its own right. Do you know about its reading rooms though? From charming squares to narrow passageways, side streets to hidden courtyards, these secret London walking tours will take you to some of my favorite hidden places around the UK capital. Fenchurch Street – head to the rooftop terrace of this fairly new City building and enjoy gorgeous planting in The Garden, and wander around the perimeter of the rooftop. You’ll feel miles away from bustling Leadenhall Market below.

London Guide Books from Metro Publications: popular with visitors to the capital, but detailed enough to appeal to born-and-bred Londoners. London is a city that pays dividends – if you take the time to invest in it that is. There are so many hidden gems in London that if we’re frank, if you’re not taking the time to explore the city, you are not doing it justice. On the way, you’ll take in the best of Richmond, from the little lanes to the Thames Path. At the end, you’ll have options for continuing your walk in whatever way suits your tastes.
