About this deal

The claim suggesting Nostradamus predicted the exact year of the death of Queen Elizabeth II is incorrect. The "prediction" was in fact a subjective interpretation of Nostradamus' writings by another author, in a book that was published in 2005. In 1556, while serving in this capacity, Nostradamus explained another prophecy from Centuries I, which was assumed to refer to King Henri. The prophecy told of a “young lion” who would overcome an older one on the field of battle. The young lion would pierce the eye of the older one and he would die a cruel death. Nostradamus warned the king he should avoid ceremonial jousting. He is also the author of eight non-fiction titles, including the Dictionary Of Cinema, the Movie Companion, the Watkins Dictionary Of Dreams, Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies For The Future and Nostradamus: The Good News. His groundbreaking The Complete Prophecies Of Nostradamus was published in 2009 by Watkins Books, and 2010 saw the publication of an illustrated book, Nostradamus: The Top 100 Prophecies [available in 9 countries], and a revised edition of NTCPFTF. His most recent non-fiction book, Nostradamus & The Third Antichrist was published in March 2011. Reading’s non-fiction books have been published in 20 countries, and have sold more than 500,000 copies. Nostradamus predicted the Twin Towers disaster, the Iraq War, the devastating tsunamis, and the great flood of New Orleans. This book talks about Nostradamus. It includes translations of Nostradamus' quatrains that deal specifically with the future, accompanied by commentaries. It ascribes dates to his prophecies

Perhaps Nostradamus is an unreliable guide to the future. Between about 1547 and 1555, he reportedly dictated 942 poetic, prophetic quatrains to his secretary while high on nutmeg, which causes hallucinations when taken in large doses. Even in his lifetime he was trolled mercilessly. “A certain brainless and lunatic idiot,” ran 1558’s First Invective of the Lord Hercules the Frenchman Against Monstradamus, “who is shouting nonsense and publishing his prognostications and fantasies on the streets.” I found Marco Reading’s interpretation of many of the prophecies required and enormous stretch of the imagination. Some of the claims were very sketchy and some were plain ridiculous. There are errors: Britain ceding from the EU (2060) it happened in 2020 40 years earlier; XCXXXXXXXX Nostradamus writes that 2K23 will find the world embroiled in, “Seven months great war, people dead through evil.” This could apply, albeit a bit late to the firefight, to the devastating conflict in Ukraine which thus far has been marked by war crimes and a heavy civilian death toll. In terms of the “evil” Nostradamus blames, hate-mongering, death-dealing, Libra Vladimir Putin comes pretty close to personifying it. Nostradamus was a 16-century French astrologer and physician whose prophecies earned him fame both during and after his lifetime. While the ten sections are indeed labeled "Centuries," there is nothing to indicate that verse numbers correspond to respective years. In fact, some predictions that featured specific dates—such as years "1727" and "1999"—were mentioned in verses III.77 and X.72, respectively. The pressure on him is so great, and his age so much against him, that Charles agrees to abdicate in favor of his elder son, Prince William." The author was honest and enthusiastic in his explanations and interpretations but in my opinion, many predictions may be understood to relate to many different world events and happenings. I think that in the translation of the prophecies, many current events could fit.

All things considered, Nostradamus’ writings offer a rather sinister outlook for 2023 and beyond. Of course, it can all be very reasonably dismissed as the groundless speculation, or poetic fancies, of a dreamer who died nearly half a millennium ago. Mario Reading was the recipient of an Arts Council Writing Award for his novel-in-progress After Barbarossa. Beyond the quatrain in question, an English translation of Les Prophiétes shows no direct reference to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, or any other queen. The name of the book I read is Nostradamus: the complete prophecies for the future. It is by Mario Reading. This book includes Nostradamus’s prophecies for the past, present and the future. I searched for this book to read my of Nostradamus’s prophecies. In 1550, Nostradamus wrote his first almanac of astrological information and predictions of the coming year. Almanacs were very popular at the time, as they provided useful information for farmers and merchants and contained entertaining bits of local folklore and predictions for the coming year.

Nostradamus suffered from gout and arthritis for most of his adulthood. In the last years of his life, the condition turned into edema or dropsy, where abnormal amounts of fluid accumulate beneath the skin or within cavities of the body. Without treatment, the condition could result in congestive heart failure. Nostradamus took advantage of this new means of spreading ideas. From 1550 onwards he produced annual almanacs that included prophetic verses. In 1554, he started writing Les Prophéties, in which he aimed to set out the future history of the world in 1,000 quatrains, arranged in 10 “centuries”. As his fame grew, Nostradamus became a close friend of the queen of France, Catherine de Médici, the death of whose husband Henry II he is supposed to have predicted in the following verse: In his book, published in 2006, Reading claimed to have found something that others who had pored over Nostradamus had missed: that his quatrains are number-indexed to correlate with dates. Hence, for instance, quatrain 10/22, purporting to forecast the death of the Queen, reads: “Because they disapproved of his divorce / A man who later they considered unworthy / The People will force out the King of the islands / A Man will replace who never expected to be king.” Some claim that Nostradamus predicted the rise of Adolf Hitler but did he also predicted a great war would occur in 2023. Turning to the quatrains of Nostradamus, one line particularly stands out: ‘ seven months great war, people dead through evil’. Bestselling author Mario Reading has produced the first major re-evaluation of the seer’s entire body of prophecies for 300 years--and it finally resolves the last great mystery of Nostradamus. While the Prophecies have transfixed us for centuries (only the Bible has been printed more times) a crucial question has lingered: why did Nostradamus not declare the dates on which his predictions would come about?
