We also go further afield in Tyranny, exploring both the Imperial capital, Sova, and the southern frontiers where battered castles cast their shadows on flowered plains while this world’s Templars attempt to colonize the locals. Can you tell us a bit more about your other characters? Galva, Norrigal, Deadlegs and even our adorable cat, Bully-Boy, were such an eclectic group! Which ones did you have the most fun writing? And do you have a favourite type of character you enjoy writing?

Dazzling. I heartily recommend this one.”―Robin Hobb, New York Timesbestselling author of the Farseer Trilogy vinsentient on It’s No Fun To Be Alone: Communicating With Cryptids in The Shape of Water 3 hours ago

Readers of epic fantasy novelists, like Tolkien or Brandon Sanderson, will enjoy this journey, which is by turns fun, magical, or terrifying for the travelers. . . . this title is transporting.”— Library Journal (starred review) Galva was smiling. The main protagonist Kinch has such a distinctive, often cynical narrative voice, which I found really entertaining. Was the humour and tone something you had planned from the onset or did this just emerge as you began writing?deadhedge on The Secret of the Sul’Dam: Subtle Changes to the Way the One Power Works in The Wheel of Time TV Series 1 hour ago Tell us a little something about your writing process – do you have a certain method? Do you find music helps? Give us a glimpse into your world! So there I was, crouched in ambush, watching a figure walking alone down the White Road toward us. I had a bad feeling about our potential victim, and not just because she walked like nobody was going to hurt her, and not just because ravens were shouting in the trees. I had studied magic, you see, just a little, and this traveler had some. I wasn’t sure what kind, but I felt it like a chill or that charge in the air before a storm that raises gooseflesh. Besides, what could one woman have on her that would be worth much split seven ways? And let’s not forget our leader’s double share, which would end up looking more like half.
