About this deal

Wow! ... Amazing book … I was on pins and needles til the very end! What a plot twist!... You will not want to put this down. This is a must read!! ’ Goodreads reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Secrets, lies and a secluded holiday destination - yes, it's been done before, but Daniel Hurst manages to put his own particular stamp on it. I listened to the audio and thought both narrators did a great job. This book lent itself perfectly to a dual narration.

This one is a little less of a thriller than his normal books and more just mystery/suspense. I was able to figure out where most of the book was heading, but I still enjoyed the ride and can’t wait to read his next book. I listened to the audiobook performed by Zoe Mills and Richard Burnip and read the e-book, as well. The narration was OK, but not my favorite. A little dull. The Holiday Home is a domestic drama about a group of friends who travel from England to Scotland on a family vacation where secrets, lies, and betrayals are exposed, leading to a startling conclusion. I sit sipping champagne in the warm water, bubbles frothing around me as I admire the breathtaking view of gorgeous blue skies and mountains. I can’t believe I’m here, at this stunning holiday home. It’s to die for… GREAT BOOK!!!… Truly amazing… I could not stop reading it and absolutely loved it!’ Goodreads reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Gripping from the very first chapter - I could not put this book down and never could have predicted the ending!... Excellent … Nail-biting and heart-pounding !’ Goodreads reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Amazing, nail-biting … I could not stop reading it . Every time I thought I had it figured out there was a twist and it kept me hooked til the end .’ NetGalley reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have been searching for books set in wooded areas, and when I saw Holiday Home, it fit my theme. I received both a digit and an audiobook through NG. While I read and listened to it, I enjoyed listening to it more. Hello, hot tub overlooking a loch. A quiet weekend to connect with nature among family and friends sounds like a perfect getaway until it becomes a nightmare!

So we're led to believe something is up when Nicola reads a text on Ryan's phone, but it turns out to be something way bigger than she expected. I felt too many chapters went by when she was just thinking about confronting him and not actually confronting him. Like, girl, just ask this husband of yours what's up.UNPUTDOWNABLE, HEART-RACING … Wow!!! ... had me hook, line and sinker from beginning to end… My heart was pounding throughout … I absolutely loved this… And omg the twist!!! I DID NOT see the twists coming at all and there were more than one!!! Just when I think everything had been worked out… BOOM there was another bombshell!!... I read this in one sitting as I could not put it down!! ’ Bookworm86 , ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The atmosphere in this one is fantastic - right from the ominous thunder when the six of them arrive at the secluded cabin. The tension ramps up with overheard whispers, secretive texts, and the discovery of things hidden in a closet. Soon the gap between the two couples widens and Cole finds himself in the middle. Who does he side with? The first ( she thinks, ) to find out the BIG secret goes on a one women mission to confront, and destroy. In this book by Daniel Hurst, my first actually, I listened to it as an audiobook narrated by two fabulous voice actors, Zoë Mills and Richard Burnip. These narrators made this intriguing story truly compelling. With a story based on secrets and lies, the excellent narration made for an easy read.

DISCLOSURE: Thank you to Bookouture via NetGalley for providing both a digital and an audio ARC of The Holiday Home, written by Daniel Hurst and narrated by Zoe Mills and Richard Burnip, for review. All opinions expressed in the review are entirely my own personal opinions. This dude pops out books left and right and I felt this one was mostly true to Daniel's form. He builds up the suspense with having multiple narrators, but the intrigue is a little less since we know what's happening on the flip side. It was less of a thriller IMO too. Can't say I loved the last little zinger either. Not my favorite, but still enjoyable enough to hold my interest. Overall, it didn't bring anything new to the table. I would only recommend this to those who are already fans of this author or new to the genre. Nicola and Kim have been long time best friends, when Kim invites Nicola and her husband Ryan and her daughter a weekend away in a remote part of Scotland. Kim’s husband Lewis is doing well for himself and owns his own company. They brought a luxurious cabin for a getaway. At first, Ryan is hesitant as he is not that close with Lewis. As he always boats how much money he has. But for Nicola’s sake he agrees.

Believing herself to have the perfect husband, Megan is set to live work-free in their beautiful and secluded country house. Then she begins to want to get out and work again, finding a job in London, but her husband, Craig, is set against it. Soon she begins to learn the truth of their marriage, as not everything is as it seems once she discovers she cannot leave. Can she break free, why is she being held there against her will, and what was the truth behind those wedding vows when they both said ’til death do us part?’ Wow!!!… The hair on my arms was standing on the ends and my heart was pounding throughout… I absolutely loved this… What an ending!!!… I cannot remember the last time I was so hooked… Absolutely addictive and I read it in one sitting… Kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with my heart absolutely pounding… especially at the end!… Absolutely hooked!’ Bookworm86, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
