The Prisoner — B.A. Paris The Prisoner — B.A. Paris
Then, both Amelie and Ned are kidnapped and held in separate dark rooms. The kidnappers are looking for Ned's father to pay a ransom but days pass and nothing comes. Amelie Lamont has been burdened much of her life - with the care of her alcoholic father who is now dying of cancer and her mother passing away when she was just a child. After her father's passing, Amelie leaves Paris behind and heads for the bright lights of London in the hopes of finding a job and earning enough money to continue her education.
Definitely not my favorite book from B.A. Paris. Separated into two parts, “The Prisoner” follows the unlikely marriage of an orphan to an infamous millionaire. Amelie has always been a survivor, from losing her parents as a child in Paris to making it on her own in London. As she builds a life for herself, she is swept up into a glamorous lifestyle where she married the handsome billionaire Ned Hawthorne.
