About this deal

We run a range of lab tests under controlled conditions, using the Imatest Master testing suite. Photos of test charts are taken across the range of apertures and zooms (where available), then analyzed for sharpness, distortion and chromatic aberrations. Note: A word of caution for owners of Fujifilm X-Pro 3 cameras - the lens is currently not compatible with this camera because the lens release button on this camera interferes with the diameter of the lens. As for accuracy, I can say it has a very high accuracy rate, probably around 95%. Why not 100%? Because I do encounter a few off-focused results when the little green box has lit up. For under low light situations, this lens still performs well most of the time. LEFT: Fuji X-E4 . Sigma 30mmF1.4 @30mm . f/1.4 . 1/160″ . ISO 800 . Classic Neg In our latest video, we wanted to see how the Fujifilm 23mm f/2.0 lens compares against its less expensive alternative, the Viltrox 23mm f/1.4 lens. For many people, it may seem logical to compare the Viltrox lens to the Fuji 23mm f/1.4 lens; however considering the price points, we thought this would be an interesting comparison instead.

Review: The Viltrox AF 23mm f/1.4 for Fujifilm X is a Superb

For Viltrox 23mm f1.4, I did not have a chance to hands-on. But 23mm focal length is different from 30mm and 35mm. You have a wonder Tamron 18-300mm, which actually covers the focal length you have asked. May I suggest you to find out what is the most common focal length you shoot the most with the Tamron 18-300mm? It should be easy to identify via exif data. Probably you can compile them into data, you can see which is your most commonly used focal length and then you can consider what lens you should get from there. I will definitely be using it through the coming wedding season and I will keep my blog updated for any future developments. Hey, I don't even own Fuji kit but I watched the whole vid just to see if Chris would make it to Emerg. Its possible I suppose, but its not like I was spinning in circles when I took the shot. I think its just that soft. center is plenty sharp in that shot. The lens features a USB-C port, built into its brass mounting plate, which allows you to apply firmware updates direct from a connected computer. (Image credit: Matthew Richards) Build and handling On universal healthcare; every country facing the demands of older population. Pandemic as virtual body-blow. In Britain partial privatisation with US companies buying hospitals serving more private patients. NHS will not survive in its present form with long waiting-lists (rationing) . NHS by not charging user-patients is a prescription for abuse. Also interesting to note is just how much and how fast the Viltrox sharpness falls off. Look at the edges of the logs compared to the Fuji.

VILTROX AF 23mm F1.4 XF Lens for Fuji X-mount Camera Body

So the Viltrox has better resolution power (much better actually in center). Also has 2/3 of a stop less vignetting wide open. It’s kinda funny how many negative reactions this lens is eliciting. I know numbers aren’t everything, but you would think Viltrox killed someone’s dog by producing a lens that has better sharpness than the Fujinon, but is not absolutely perfect.Im torn because I love the size and handling of the Fuji, Viltrox at 1.4 for me isnt super usable but its nice to have, and its sharper at f2 in the center. So a trade off of size and handling for the ability to shoot at 1.4 if needed, nut mainly I would be keeping it at f2.

Personally, I don’t mind the slight vignette, it's easy to correct in post-production if you need to. The STM motor is very quiet for video and can hardly be heard, so I really feel they got the balance right there. This lens comes with a filter size of 52mm, and it is more than welcome for photographers to buy filters at a more affordable price. If you only express the resolution in LP/pix, you do not take into account that the sampling itself will reduce the resolution. So if you have camera A with 0.5 LP/pix and camera B with 0.4 LP/pix you would say that A is better than B. But if camera A has only 320 pixel in height and camera A has 2000 pixel, camera B will definitely show more details in the same scene. So to make the test results comparable with the efficiency (LP/pix) and the amount of pixel combined, express the resolution as line pairs per picture height. In this example, this would result in a comparison of 160 LP/PH to 800 LP/PH.

Both of lenses seems to operate correctly for landscape. Any of you can put the link where to get the firmwares for the Fuji X-T4. Is any of you had success updating. I prefer not to update than updating and being in trouble. It's a shame that Sigma's F1.4 APSC primes aren't available for X mount, as the would breathe some fresh air into Fuji's lineup, while saving users money. Color fringing is very negligible, there’s very little distortion for such a wide-angle lens, and resistance to ghosting and flare is impressive. Overall performance and image quality are highly impressive. It is an interesting comparison. On the one hand I realized I wasted too much time looking for news about these Viltrox lenses. I should have just listened to the people who say Fuji make great lenses. More demanding sensor" makes resolution numbers higher. So of course Viltrox has higher numbers in some cases. In the same time you show that Fujinons still have higher numbers in other cases despite lower resolution sensor which is pretty remarkable. The build quality is decent, it feels lighter than the Fuji XF 23mm f1.4 and balances really nice when mounted to the X-T3. Overall it looks great too.
