Preferred would be a zigbee device. I know that all the motion sensors also have light sensors, but they are rather expensive and not optimal, if you only want to measure light/lux. I bought a Philips Hue sensor and it updates every 10 seconds, but it has a somewhat short range and little viewing angle.

As already stated, this device is HomeKit compatible, so whichever way you decide to add this, it will show up in the Home app, as well as third-party apps, like Eve for HomeKit, for example. In the Home app, the device is represented with just the one tile and one service, as expected. Centralite: The sensors themselves don't store any user data, only Zigbee network data. User data is stored in the hub or the hub's cloud; data is encrypted in the cloud in the hubs we know of. All four of mine were originally on SmartThings, but last month I moved the last of them over to my C-7. I was originally using Marcus' driver on them, but I've switched 2 of them to the newer, simpler unified driver by @chirpy. The only current name brand Zigbee sensor I'm aware of that includes Lux are both the indoor and outdoor Philips Hue motion sensors. I have been looking for an ambient light sensor to use with other IoT smart home devices. In my opinion this would be a commonly requested device for controlling internal lighting. For example if you had smart lighting, you may want to turn the lights off if the sun is shining brightly or turn the lights on if it's cloudy.
