About this deal

Preferred would be a zigbee device. I know that all the motion sensors also have light sensors, but they are rather expensive and not optimal, if you only want to measure light/lux. I bought a Philips Hue sensor and it updates every 10 seconds, but it has a somewhat short range and little viewing angle.

You'll configure the radio using your free Device Cloud account. (Note that radios can also be configured using XCTU.) NOTE: If your radio was recently configured by the XBee ZigbeeCloud Kit then the sampling rate and pin settings are already set. You can safely skip these steps.I am a new owner of Hubitat. I only get the hub yesterday. I am a long time Smartthings user. Home automation becomes a hobby. I did get to the point where I make my own sensor. Water falling as a spray at any angle up to 60° from the vertical shall have no harmful effect, utilizing either: a) an oscillating fixture, or b) A spray nozzle with a counterbalanced shield. Test a) is conducted for 5 minutes, then repeated with the specimen rotated horizontally by 90° for the second 5-minute test. Test b) is conducted (with shield in place) for 5 minutes minimum.” Would it work if you rely only on Hue for the motion detection and controlling the light? If you connect the Hue motion sensor and the light to the Hue hub and then setup the logic in Hue would that give the fast reaction you are looking for? You can still do other things in HA with Hue integration. If you have the Aqara hub in Mi Home, you can’t officially add it, as it’s not included in the list of devices that are compatible, and if you add it from the main menu, it will show that neither the Aqara hub or the Aqara G2 Hub Camera are compatible (see images above) Select Configurations, then Input and Output Settings, then confirm that DIO1/AD1/SPI_ATTNis set to Analog Input.

Zigbee Motion Sensors (And Why You Should Get One) Guide to Zigbee Motion Sensors (And Why You Should Get One)

Once paired to the mesh network the switch can be programmed and controlled by an app or compatible After more tests with the Philips Hue sensor, I am seeing better results by placing it in another area, the range is about 4 meters from directional way and about 2.5 from the sides, but being so directional, it does not work correctly for me in a corridor of about 6 meters.I would like to use it as a night light in bathroom during night time or night light for the Stairs. Thank you thank you.

As already stated, this device is HomeKit compatible, so whichever way you decide to add this, it will show up in the Home app, as well as third-party apps, like Eve for HomeKit, for example. In the Home app, the device is represented with just the one tile and one service, as expected. The tile will show the current Lux reading, and this reading is also shown in the first splash screen after you long press on the tile to access the settings. In terms of settings themselves, you’ll notice there’s no option to add it to a scene as such, and you can’t use it in any automations in Home, as light readings are still not supported in this app. They are supported in third-party apps, however, and as you can see above, I’m able to use the light readings from the sensor as a trigger for an automation in the Eve app.Use a traditional motion sensor, add a dry relay to not send current and connect it to a sonoff mini zigbee switch (ZBMINI) Do you mean the older Mi Hub or the new Mi Smart Gateway? It will work with the new Smart Gateway, but it will not work with the older Mi Hub. The light sensor is a certified Zigbee 3.0 product, and the older Mi hub can’t work with Zigbee 3.0 devices. I usually walk down the hall more than once in less than a minute and I don’t need the light on for more than 10 seconds in this case) Mentioned sensor was chosen between 3 other sensors - so according to ours tests this one has really good performances. i need a recommendation for a zigbee or wifi brightness/Lux sensor. At the moment i do some experiments with the Xiaomi Mi Light Sensor GZCGQ01LM. But it is very unreliable and has some false outputs. I tested trhee of the same sensors so i can cut out some defects.

The best smart sensors: Zigbee, Z-Wave, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi

When the new HomeKit compatible Mi smart Gateway was released around mid-December in China, it was also accompanied by the Mi Light Sensor, which was first spotted ‘in the wild’ when beta testers for the Mi Smart Gateway, who had also been supplied with the aforementioned sensor, started posting pics of the devices on Chinese social media platforms like Weibo. Both the new gateway and the sensor soon made their way to places like GearBest, AliExpress and Banggood, making them finally available to the wider world. So today, armed with this new sensor, we’ll take a look at this device and try and find out if it’s any good, and if we can actually find a use for it! There are a few similar sensors like what I built. Why make another one? Hubitat speed and local execution complement my goal in making this sensor. My goal is to have Environment sensor tha…

Centralite: The sensors themselves don't store any user data, only Zigbee network data. User data is stored in the hub or the hub's cloud; data is encrypted in the cloud in the hubs we know of. All four of mine were originally on SmartThings, but last month I moved the last of them over to my C-7. I was originally using Marcus' driver on them, but I've switched 2 of them to the newer, simpler unified driver by @chirpy. The only current name brand Zigbee sensor I'm aware of that includes Lux are both the indoor and outdoor Philips Hue motion sensors. I have been looking for an ambient light sensor to use with other IoT smart home devices. In my opinion this would be a commonly requested device for controlling internal lighting. For example if you had smart lighting, you may want to turn the lights off if the sun is shining brightly or turn the lights on if it's cloudy. Weather services could help, but ambient light at the location would be far more reliable. Buy smart luminance sensors in bulk at a competitive price.
