The Ryzen 9 7900X3D has also been crafted for high-performance gaming and creating. Its cache capacity is 140MB, paired with twelve cores, twenty-four threads, and boost speeds up to 5.6GHz.Compared to the more expensive chipsets, the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D absolutely holds its own with the 7950X3D and the 13900K, with the largest gap visible seen with how AMD's flagship handles Returnal. This is likely due to the fact that the 7950X3D utilizes an additional four cores and eight threads, and Total War series has always been Intel's strongest gaming benchmark, which remains the case here. Touch wood, after stopping messing and having done a CMOS Clear, it seems to be fairly stable (no issues playing games for about 8 hours so far). I had this when messing with MCLK settings and had enabled 'Memory Context Restore' which I then had to CMOS Clear to reset. What I would say is and this is just my opinion/thought train, if gaming only wait it out. If doing light production, the 7900 is a valid option. If you are doing lots of production and have the money to burn the 7950 it is.

There's very little that we can fault the Raptor Lake flagship on with its performance. That's due to the excellent Raptor Cove and Gracemont cores with its hybrid architecture that makes it a processor that's difficult to beat outside of its expensive price point. While a higher TDP usually relates to higher performance, the inclusion of the added 3D V-cache means that the processor can access a larger pool of superfast cache memory, which is even more useful when gaming than just throwing raw power at the problem. With its own dedicated extra cache, there are fewer fetch operations to the PC's main memory, so the chip runs more efficiently, and potentially cooler under load. Without a doubt, it is one of the best processors for gaming on the market. But even as gamers are going to be able to get the most out of this chip, it's productivity performance isn't too bad either. Problem 2 - The Design: Due to the design of the chip only having the 3D v-cache on one of the two CCDs, core parking during gaming workloads is applied, meaning 6 cores and 6 threads are deactivated so you're only utilising the 6 cores and 6 threads that hold the 3D v-cache while gaming. When the 7800X3D launches that CPU only have 1 CCD which holds all the 3D v-cache meaning all 8 cores will be available during gaming. It is a compromise chip. must have the 6 ccd cpus out there are. But it’s not just a one ccd. It’s two and I’ve seen, during the very limited gaming I’ve been able to do, games are on the cache cores with windows and other apps on the none cache. For me, that is ideal. With that said, I think a lot of CPUs that run F4 and F76 good enough will run Starfield just fine and probably SQ42 as well. Or they will after some patches )Cyberpunk in particular isn't a GPU centric title, it's an everything centric title, because it can use more of whatever you have to feed it and spit out more fps, better image quality, faster loading, more & better AI (esp. with mods) etc. With Zen 3 AMD added something that stops windows doing that, Windows wants to move something from core 2 to core 12 and whatever AMD did stops it. So am I right in saying that the 7900X3D is 12 cores, but in games it will utilize cores assigned with X3DVcache? So CCD 0 6 cores X3DVcache. CCD 1 6 standard cores? I do hope it burns in the atmosphere or it will be a bit of a mess between an arcade and some realistic elements that I don't want to have )
