About this deal

Masley, Ed. "At 19, Alan Parsons recorded the Beatles. How that 'life-changing' experience shaped him". The Arizona Republic . Retrieved 7 November 2022. From The New World is Alan Parson’s sixth studio album since disbanding The Alan Parsons Project, and it is probably the closest sounding album to The Alan Parsons Project in his solo career. This is not a bad thing, but the album certainly has its foundation in the original sound of The Alan Parsons Project. As with previous Alan Parsons albums, he continues the practice of employing a number of musicians and vocalists. However, the end result is a singular sound/view of Alan Parsons. Alan Parsons From The New World Album Review: Alan Parsons From The New World

Since the Alan Parsons Project disbanded in 1990, Parsons has moved on as a successful solo artist. In this latest phase of his career, From the New World marks his sixth studio album so far. He’s also toured extensively across the world, an elaborate experience that is well documented in both of his recently-released live albums. From the New World is, Parsons explains, a particularly significant title for him, chosen based on several factors. Opener "Fare Thee Well" is a moving homage to Parsons' former musical partner Eric Woolfson in The Alan Parsons Project, who passed away in 2009. Great lyrics, but unfortunately a bland chorus and an unnerving saxophone solo. a b "Alan Parsons – Bio FAQ Discography". Archived from the original on 12 December 2009 . Retrieved 5 October 2017. Alan Parsons OBE (born 20 December 1948) [2] is an English audio engineer, songwriter, musician and record producer.

Alan Parsons | From The New World – New Studio Release Review Alan Parsons | From The New World – New Studio Release Review

I have a certain idea, why he did so. The original song was written and produced by the (in)famous Phil Spector. I presume, that that guy was one of Parson's most important musical heroes, and "Don't Answer Me", The Alan Parsons Project's greatest hit from 1984, maybe was influenced by "Be My Baby" and other Spector classics. Just a notion. A few years ago, when Alan Parsons released what was being hinted as his final studio album, The Secret, I must admit that upon my first few listens I was underwhelmed. By no means was this late career offering “bad” or even “mediocre”. It just didn’t resonate with me the same way as those classic 70s and 80s Alan Parsons Project albums do, which is an unfair judgement considering one half of the Project, and their primary songwriter/vocalist at that, Eric Woolfson, is no longer with us. Hence why while the musical and recording practices of the Project remain alive and well, the moniker does not. This is purely Parsons’s vision. There must be a reason, why Parsons doesn't let the album end with "Goin' Home", which would have been perfect. The album title From the New World among other things was influenced by Antonín Dvořák's famous Symphony No. 9 in E minor (a favourite of Parsons' dad), and the beautiful, orchestral, self sung, melancholic, almost sentimental "Goin' Home" is based on one of its countless legendary tunes.

Another significant reason for naming this album From the New World , Parsons says, is “because everybody’s living in a new world with the pandemic in their lives. Third reason: my band is all American. And lastly, the fact that I’ve been living in America for 22 years now.” From The New World(CD, Album, LP, Album, Limited Edition, Blue, DVD, DVD-Data, NTSC, CD, Album, Reissue, Box Set, Limited Edition)
