About this deal

And let me tell you I want nothing from ILC vendors! But if the want to sell something to me or someone else they need to get our attention. And what I see is they are falling flat on attract people with their products! It also gains the ability to shoot 4K/60p for action capture or slow-mo work, but this requires a crop to APS-C/Super 35 dimensions. This footage comes from a 4.6K region. There are also options to use H.265 compression (XAVC HS) and apply the S-Cinetone color profile. your claims that dslr wide open focusing is preferable are wrong because it ignores focus shift, and no, as roger stated the 24-105 does not have a focus shift problem: "This is NOT a focus shift, as it’s being called wrongly on the internet"

You are wrong, I was not trolling. It was a serious question. But the fact that you think I was trolling explains your attitude. As for your theories about battery life...the Nikon Z9 absolutely smokes the A1 in battery life. No contest. So it's not a matter of Nikon needing to use the larger battery to eke out the same performance as the A1, but giving it's pro and high level users a very practical benefit. No no no! Free market require good and desirable products! No products no sale! Very simple! All talking and advocacy for this refusing to change FAT corporations is pure non-sense! And if they do not change, lower the expenses and make better products, they all will go out of the market.Unlike the A7 III before it, which had a tilting screen, the Sony A7 IV has a flip-out vari-angle display. (Image credit: Rod Lawton/Digital Camera World) There's not the ergonomics gap there used to be, and the Sony has better battery life, better video AF, fewer heat limitations in video. There's not much to call between them, but having extensively used both, reviewed both and written that side-by-side comparison, I think the a7 IV is a little better. Sony says that the new A7 IV has better noise control at high ISO settings than the older A7 III. Nevertheless, the maximum (expanded) ISO setting is the same at ISO 204800 for stills. Interesting, the A7 IV offers an expanded maximum for video that’s 1EV lower at ISO 102400, where the A7 III’s stills and video ranges were the same. We look forward to testing the new camera to see if there are visible real-world differences. 3. Continuous shooting

With this front dial, the two on the top and a rear dial too, you're not short of dials! (Image credit: Rod Lawton/Digital Camera World) https://www.dpreview.com/products/search/cameras#criterias=SpecsCoreParams%2CBrand¶mSpecsCoreParamsBodyType=SLRStyleMirrorless¶mBrand=Sony I think what Sam is getting at is that at higher resolutions, it takes more power to deliver greater brightness. In that article Sam linked to, the solution was to use materials that allow for greater power efficiency so one can have higher resolution with greater brightness.

Ohhh but poor camera vendors, they lost the market to the bad smartphones so we need to feed their fat organizations so they could continue to live without change ....... He's very thorough and technical, as you ask for. He even writes highly regarded books on these cameras. But you find a way to dismiss him because he disagrees with you. The a7 IV gains the ability to capture 10-bit compressed images, rather than just the 8-bit JPEGs historically offered. Unlike Canon, which only uses HEIF capture for HDR images, the Sony lets you shoot standard DR images in 10-bit, with a choice of 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 chroma sub-sampling, if you can find benefit to doing so. Do not like to mention it but Boeing with their latest models which killed a lot of people......... You get the latest electric car and it get tons of troubles, or gasoline car get in limp mode and you come home driving with 50km/h on the highway.

Sony a7 IV review - Digital Photography Review

Same with western "democracy" in which you can go to jail because you protest or talk against different policies...... :D :D :D And if they did manage to make this work, then what? You'd still be left with the fact that most users prefer the ease of use and convenience of the smartphone rather than any dedicated camera. Users will never perceive any dedicated camera as easier to use or carry than their smartphones. Btw what you see is moire due to higher resolution and no low pass filter. Try the Z7 with similar resolution (or any 40MP+ sensor), you will see similar patterns. In addition, even with subjects the camera hasn't been trained to recognize, the a7 IV uses pattern detection, subject color and brightness to help it stay focused on the subject you selected. But with Sony being such an industry leader and innovator in recent years, I feel like if they improved in this direction, the competition would be compelled to follow.

Third, there was never real free market on the Japan Camera Market! Based on examples that we have like prices, models, market segmentation and etc we have well-protected oligopoly, with tons of patents and "secret" tech! the Sony a7 IV has the same 3.6Mdot resolution evf as the Canon EOS R6, Nikon Z6 II, A7R III, A9 and A9 II as well. Cont'd. So when you analyze the camera market, you have to realize that those low end models are also competing against smartphones, and they don't win out at any price.
