About this deal

This is a review of the EdP, not the EdT or “fragrance spray” or whatever Philosophy used to call it. (I have an older bottle, BTW .. with dense sparkles at the bottom that disperse toward the top of the bottle, circa 2014-2015.. ish.) Soft & soapy rose. This scent isn't a laundry scent- but the image I get is of fresh linen & blue skies. It's classy... and as some other have mentioned, "squeaky clean." My mother & I have had many of the Amazing Grace perfumes and body products over the years- and I never get tired of smelling it. When I started on fragrantica in 2010 this was one of the first scents I reviewed (the review is gone). 10 years later and when I smell this scent it immediately goes "diaper baby" in my brain. Just never been a fan. Although I remember this one being unbearably powdery to me in the past and now I think it's a lot more watery. I wonder if they've diluted the formula or changed it somehow. I have a small bottle I can stand wearing. It was a gift from my parents, and now that I don't see them much their gifts are more precious. Look, I don't want to toot my horn, but I could, slightly, maybe be classified as a perfume snob, ESPECIALLY anything with white florals.

The right body chemistry seems to mute those screechy notes, warms the whole thing up and turns this fragrance into something beautiful. My body chemistry doesn’t seem to mesh with this at all.Hopefully Fragrantica might update the listings with the new bottles and specify more clearly which is the EDP and EDT... but in the meantime, I'm writing this review to clarify for myself.

Blind bought this today and tested it.. It's very nice and airy, kind of reminds me of an angel on a cloud (the name probably gives that impression too) but so far I don't find it groundbreaking. I know a lot of people have said that Coty may have messed around with it so I'm conscious that the reformulation may be what's made it less appealing. Would be interested to see if I could find an original to compare them both. I do like it but not that amazed overall, I get the florals and I smell a little powder (which weirdly is not listed in the notes). I think it would have been my favourite scent if I'd got it in my younger days. A good day time scent anyway. To me, this is the essence of the word "beautiful". I love that it's a bit shy and not too overpowering. The citrus lasts about an hour. Yet in the drydown, it develops into something even lovelier, and on me, there is great longevity. I seem to get a bit more rose than what I'm seeing from other users. Sillage is more than than I was aware of when I first began using Amazing Grace. So this is an interesting one. I blind bought this without really noticing the comments about this being similar to Simply Belle (which I wasn't a fan of). I love this for the spring and summer days. I also think it is a great scent that can be work to work and it is non-offensive.

I like the citrusy opening. It's pretty, but meh. Not my thing. Also it lasts nothing on me, maybe 1h. I tried a sample of their face cream a while ago and I'm not sure if it's the exact same fragrance, but it's definitely similar. This week I came across a little 15 ml bottle, bought it right away and I am so happy I got it because now it was a instant love. embrace your beauty, and express your femininity with amazing grace spray fragrance. our best-selling, amazingly clean, beautifully feminine scent of welcoming bergamot to greet the senses, irresistibly soft, clean muguet blossoms and lasting musk with its classic beauty. When I tried this on, my first impression was hand soap. Really nice hand soap, from the ladies' room of an upscale department store or something, but definitely soapy. Possibly a hint of sunscreen as well, although I'm not 100% sure. So the musk is pretty dominant at first, but some of the floral notes come through shortly after the initial spray. This is definitely a "fresh out of the shower" scent, so it's the kind of thing I would wear to the office or on a (casual, daytime) first date or just to hang out at my boyfriend's place to watch Netflix. It's the kind of fragrance that makes people think you just smell like that--they're more likely to guess that it's your shampoo, soap, or body lotion that's making you smell so good, and they would not expect it to be your perfume. It is very feminine, fresh, and clean; I imagine that the woman who wears this as a signature scent probably wears a lot of white and never worries that she might get a smudge of dirt on her skirt or a drip of sauce on her sweater--her immaculately clean house is painted in shades of cream and light beige, there are always fresh flowers on the credenza, and everything is just so. So for me, definitely an aspirational scent. Amazing Grace is really out of character for me, but I think if I can get past the soapy/sunscreen bit at the beginning, then it could be a promising addition to my collection, because it smells like #adulting and I honestly need that vibe in my life. Top is super short-lived. Citrus for literally the first 2 seconds .. so fleeting I can’t really distinguish which citrus is present. (If I had to guess, mostly bergamot?) There’s also a brief, spicy, slightly green floral note. The rest of the wear is a fairly linear mix of slightly sweet florals and powdery musk. It definitely fits in with Philosophy’s “Grace” line .. that signature “clean”/musky accord forms the base of the fragrance.
