About this deal

So now that you know the basics of good ol’ regular hairspray, let’s chat about the different varieties and other types of hairspray that exist in our fabulous world of modern hair… We had high hopes for this one given how popular the brand's Dry Texturizing Spray is. TL;DR it delivered. The first thing that impressed us was the spray itself—out of all the hairsprays tested, Oribe's version had the finest, most mist-like texture. Because of this, it was really easy to build volume. With just a small amount of product and a little encouragement to the roots, hair was noticeably fuller and more voluminous. However, we noticed that it left behind some buildup and classic crunch, even after it dried. Flexibility– This has to do with the amount of hair movement after applying the spray. Opt for a more flexible spray if you just want your hair to move more freely.

And then you’re probably like, “ but what type of hairspray should I use for my hair?” Girl, there are so many factors that go into choosing the perfect hairspray for your everyday style. This is a flexible hairspray that you can brush through without pulling or breaking your hair. It’s best to use this type when working through the hairstyle. They’re designed to hold your style in place for the rest of the day… so as you can imagine, they’re typically pretty heavy. Whether you want a nice light-hold hairspray or something that will keep your hair in place until the end of days, it’s important to understand the different types of hairspray. This hairspray surprised us in the best way. While we weren't sure about it initially, by the end of the day, we decided it was the best hairspray we tried. Let us explain: While we loved the tall bottle, as well as the way it dispersed an even, generous mist (plus a mild scent with fresh, citrusy notes), it left behind a crunchy feeling and didn't hide my frizz or stray hairs. We noticed, however, that it really gave our hair a boost.Furthermore, some thermal sprays are designed to hold the style in place after your hair leaves the heat. You should use thermal spray over traditional hairspray, as they have less alcohol, which can seriously damage your hair when combined with high heat. But have no fear! We’re about to dive deep into everything you possibly need to know about hairspray! It also doesn’t leave that pesky white residue like dry shampoo does, but it also won’t soak up excess oil from your scalp. It basically gives you all the styling benefits of dry shampoo without the cleansing action. If your hair needs a big boost, this is the hairspray for you. With just a few spritzes to the roots, the formula offers a lift of airy volume. The slim bottle sprays out a fine mist that distributes evenly across an entire head of hair. It offers medium hold, which the brand claims stands up to winds of 25 miles per hour. While it never got too windy in the studio, it did stay in place throughout the day. The formula isn't the most lightweight, though. We could still feel this product on our strands even after it dried, and it clumped hair together in spots.

It provides medium hold while helping to resist humidity. Ideal for fine/medium hair types. The hairspray on the market at the time made these high glam hairstyles feel stiff and unnatural, but hairsprays have come a long way since. The once-crunchy sprays are now available in fine mist formulas for the touchable, beachy waves and loose styles of this decade with the same level of holding power to make sure your hair doesn't fall flat (or frizz!) seconds after styling. Each of them serves a purpose, and finding the perfect hairspray will make your life that much easier. Basically, shine spray is just a type of finishing spray that also adds mega shine to your finished hairstyle. Despite the extra texture, we found that our hair stayed soft to the touch and free of crunch. Be advised that it doesn't have a strong hold on its own—hair started slipping out of its style as the day wore on. However, it played well with other hairsprays when a bit more control is necessary, making it a great option to "dirty up" freshly washed hair for up-dos or messy styles, or coupled with stronger-hold hairsprays to finish a style. Finishing sprays are meant to be the absolute last thing you put on your hair before walking out the door.
