About this deal

[11] Adam Ranger: A good album, but not a great album. but does have some filler and feels a little disjointed in places, however it was a joy to listen to this again. It was the album they recorded before my all time favourite the following year Sabbath Bloody Sabbath so a precursor to that it deserves praise. Coordinator [Reissue Release Coordinator], Research, Liner Notes [Reissue], Artwork [Reissue], Design [Reissue] – Hugh Gilmour Pennanen, Timo (2006). Sisältää hitin – levyt ja esittäjät Suomen musiikkilistoilla vuodesta 1972 (in Finnish) (1sted.). Helsinki: Kustannusosakeyhtiö Otava. ISBN 978-951-1-21053-5. Kolmas kappale "Changes" on hyvä esimerkki yhtyeen kokeilunhalusta.

Arthur Comix: 10/10. First Sabbath LP I bought. The riffs are super-heavy, the other stuff adds texture - makes the heavy even heavier. First and last on each side are as good as it gets. (My old band used to play Under The Sun. Very very badly) Grow, Kory (21 June 2017). "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time". Rolling Stone. Wenner Media LLC. Although most of the album is in the band's trademark heavy style, some songs demonstrate a more sensitive approach. " Changes", for example, written by Iommi with lyrics by Butler, is a piano ballad with mellotron. Iommi taught himself to play the piano after finding one in the ballroom of the Bel-Air mansion they were renting. It was on this piano that "Changes" was composed. [4] "Tony just sat down at the piano and came up with this beautiful riff," Osbourne writes in his memoir. "I hummed a melody over the top, and Geezer wrote these heartbreaking lyrics about the break-up Bill was going through with his wife. I thought that was brilliant from the moment we recorded it." A solid 8/10 (I'll reserve my 10 for Sabbath Bloody Sabbath if it ever comes around and a couple of 9s for MOR and Sabotage). Philip Qvist: I borrowed this album from a schoolmate in the 1981 - and on first hearing I remember how heavy that album was. Osbourne also recounts the band's ongoing anxiety over the possibility of being busted, which worsened after they went to the cinema to see The French Connection (1971), about undercover New York City cops busting an international heroin-smuggling ring. "By the time the credits rolled," Osbourne recalled, "I was hyperventilating." In 2013, Butler admitted to Mojo magazine that heroin, too, had entered the picture: "We sniffed it, we never shot up... I didn't realise how nuts things had gotten until I went home and the girl I was with didn't recognise me."

In what areas does the UK Vertigo sound better than the Warner Bros......better bass response, improved dimensionality, clarity, etc.? For those of you who have listened to both the UK and US LPs, in your opinion, does the Vertigo better the Warner Bros in a very noticeable way (that makes you go "Wow what an improvement!"), or is it a more subtle improvement? Wade Babineau: Great album. Tomorrow’s Dream and Supernaut have to be some of Iommi’s greasiest riffs. Who doesn't love Supernaut and Snowblind as a huge one-two punch right in the middle? FX is clearly filler, but no real complaints with this one. The rot from the coke abuse clearly not set in yet.

Joissain myöhemmissä (NEMS ja Castle) painoksissa on "Wheels of Confusion"-kappaleen jälkeen n. 10:n sekunnin mittainen, hiljaisella voimakkuudella nauhoitettu ote kappaleen outron ("The Straightener") kitaramelodiaa. Tätä ei ole alkuperäisissä painoksissa tai Pohjois-Amerikan painoksissa eikä vuoden 2009 remasteroidussa versiossa. [23] A Tähdellä merkityt ennenjulkaisemattomia. Live-kappaleista osa on julkaistu erilaisella miksauksella epävirallisella vuoden 1980 Live at Last-albumilla. [24] In some North American pressings, the songs "Wheels of Confusion" and "Under the Sun" are titled "Wheels of Confusion/The Straightener" and "Under the Sun/Every Day Comes and Goes". The first is a coda to "Wheels of Confusion" whose guitar is played by Geezer Butler, while the second is a two-minute segment that serves as the bridge for "Under the Sun". These parts are not titled on original releases or any European release.
