About this deal

I’ll take this opportunity to clown on BLON’s name, which stands for: “ Belief, Letmusicburn, Oppoty, Nevergiveup”. Today I want to tell you about my first time… with IEMs. Popular with stage musicians since the mid 90s, IEMs have earned their place in the audiophile world thanks to the incredibly intimate way they deliver their music directly to your ear canal. Suddenly all the physical limitations of speakers, rooms and headphones are gone, and you’re left with nothing but the music. In this case, size doesn’t matter. Despite the smaller diameter of this driver unit, the E3000 can churn out quite a lot of bass quantity, which we will discuss below. When worn with the included cable, the BL-03 is awkward and frustrating. However, using another cable with straight 2-pin connectors it becomes very comfortable and the shells practically disappear in my ears. The smooth rounded surface of the shells can be worn for hours without creating hot spots or any discomfort. Over your face” sparkles are nonexistent. But that is due to the front veil. No “In your face” bass, EDM trap basslines are thin while female vocals are too forward.

Neither the pouch, nor the cable, nor the tips are anything special. Although the cable is different and looks a little better than before, its plastic coating makes it easier to shape. When the seal is right, it sounds good. Build quality is nice with the metal body. Considering the price, you get what you pay for with the wire, so I can't complain there either. The BLON BL-03 are shaped like drops, with the summit hosting the 2-pin connector for the cable. The shells are entirely made of metal; they have a shiny, polished finish that make them appear chrome-plated. They’re basically chrome drops! They look oddly (and a bit unsettlingly) organic, as they only have curved lines and surfaces. I wouldn’t deem them out of place in a modern art museum (but that’s possibly also because of my poor understanding of modern art). BLON BL-03 vs BGVP DM7: the BGVP DM7 are an even different kind. In terms of tuning they are quite different, as they offer much less sub-bass but much faster bass, less present (and warmer) mids and more present treble. They’re certainly more U-shaped. They offer better instrument separation, but the BL-03 trump them in terms of detail, imaging and soundstage. Let me get my one issue with the BL-03s out of the way first. There’s a lot to like about these miniature wonders, but fit, at least into my relatively narrow ear canals, is definitely not one of them.

One of the reasons headphones and earphones in India are more expensive than overseas is because of the Goods & Services Tax in India. If we talk about its internal design, it is a dynamic dual driver, combining a 10mm driver with a carbon diaphragm and a 6mm driver with a very light diaphragm. The cavity is made of Zinc alloy and uses a 2Pin 0.78 connection. Despite all this, the tuning has not changed that much from that BL-03 or the later BL-05s. So it is not a sonic revolution, only the design is, but not so much of an ergonomic improvement. The bass on the Mangird Top is deep, impactful, and textured. It's not overly boosted, but it's definitely present and gives the IEM a fun and engaging sound. The bass is also very well-controlled, so it doesn't bleed into the mids or highs. Nonetheless with certain kinds of music like the Spitfire the experience is immaculate and you are going to feel like sitting next to the subwoofers. Welcome to my Cliffnotes, a series where I push out rapid fire opinions of some of the IEMs I’ve heard but

Technical Specs:-

The BL-03 is their newest golden goose, often compared to established models like the Moondrop KXXS or the Tanchjim Oxygen despite its price. There are rumours that this was tuned by the same guy who tuned the Oxygen, but nothing has been officially confirmed.
