About this deal

A little oil on the blades every now and then will also help prevent rust and keep the mower moving smoothly

My initial ‘test drive’ was done on a lawn that hasn’t been touched for… More than half a year or so. So in other words this is about as bad as it should get in terms of lawn mowing and if the Bosch AHM 38 G can handle this, then surely a bit of more frequent lawn mowing wouldn’t be a problem. And just to clarify the ground underneath this lawn has a few lumps and bumps here and there but it’s not terribly uneven – so I decided to leave the roller setting of the mower in the middle as recommended by the manual. Stubborn and dense grasses need more blades or extra passes for even cuts. So, if you own a lawn with robust types of herbs, select a mower with at least five leaves. If you have thin grasses that don’t require much power of sharpness, then you can also opt for a mower with four blades. This Bosch mower will give a good cut, even more so if used regularly, and it will also leave stripes It’s something to bear in mind when purchasing a hand push lawn mower, and a good question to ask to customers who have already bought the model you’re looking into. A Good Range of Cutting Heights The height of the cut can be adjusted to fit your lawn and weather conditions – if the grass is damp, it can work better to use a higher setting. There are four height positions to choose from, between 13 and 38 mm. Performs Well for Regular Lawn Maintenance – If you’re good at keeping on top of your lawn care duties, mowing regularly and not letting it get too long and out of control, then the Bosch AHM38G is a good option. Its blades cut effortlessly through grass that is kept to a reasonable length and it leaves a decent finish. Although many would argue that it doesn’t cut to the same standards as its predecessor, the Qualcast Panther 30 (Bosch acquired Qualcast a few years ago). The mower is well constructed and made from reliable materials, but if you were in any sort of doubt about that, the two-year warranty should be enough to sate your fears. What’s more, with this mower being at such an affordable price, what's not to love? Main Features

The more range the better, so it’s a good idea to look for a lawn mower that offers a variety of cutting heights. However if you only have very short grass, you can probably get away with less height options, like the 3 cm range offered by the WEBB H30 Manual Hand Push Lawn Mower. Manual Push Mowers vs. Petrol/Electric If you need some beautiful strips in your garden or lawn, try the WEH12R, and in return, it will give you a smoothly cut lawn that cannot be achieved by expensive motor-powered machines. Recommended for a lawn up to 150 cm square in size, the mower never makes much noise due to its compact size, it’s also easy to store in a garden shed or garage. Mowers with 5 – 6 cutting blades offer a good balance between a lightweight design and a great cut . If you want a push mower that’s easy to manoeuvre (which is a primary benefit of a manual mower), I recommend looking for a model under 10kg. However, a heavier mower might be advantageous if it has extra features that will benefit you. Cutting Width . Width of blades is an essential factor that decides the cutting performance of a lawnmower. It’s easy to understand that a full cutting mouth means a mower will spend less time swallowing all the extra-large grasses from your lawn. At the same time, a mower with wide cutting blades might be tough to move because the weight can also be higher if compared to a mower with blades having less width. So, you will spend extra physical power on a large mower, and you might be tired early.A 20 L collection bag comes included, keeping time spent emptying the grass catcher to a minimum. It still requires relatively frequent clearing out, but a larger bag would unbalance the machine so this creates a decent compromise. Gardena has also taken steps to make this mower easier to push by employing ‘touchless cutting technology’. This means the blades don’t interfere with each other and therefore there’s no need to fight against their resistance whilst pushing. This means all your effort is translated into cutting power.
