A chance encounter brings Elsie face to face with the creature, and sparks the adventure of a lifetime - from London to the heart of the Arctic! David Walliams is a great writer who makes reading fun and is not too heavy on teaching life lessons. The book is about an ice monster who breaks through glass. It is a fiction story. I like it because it makes me want to keep reading. I would say yes to others who want to read this! This is a classic Walliams book. Funny, energetic, and with a well-judged dollop of sentimentality. The action moves from a brilliantly depicted Victorian London, to the icy tundras of the North Pole, with a large cast of characters. I'm teaching English to a very bright 10 year old who loves Mr W's work, as do I. I'm looking forward to uses this with her. Thank you for sharing.
