Al Roberts, an unemployed piano player, hitches a ride, arriving at a roadside diner in Reno, Nevada. Another customer in the diner plays a song on the jukebox, that disturbs Al, for it reminds him of his former life in New York City. I think the person a few posts below me saying that it smells very generic is incorrect. It's not terribly unique, and it does smell quite a bit like a designer-type fragrance, and I feel like many of PdM's frags are actually that. Somewhat designer-smelling but with niche prices. Many have described an alcoholic tinge to the opening of Detour Noir but I don't really get that; I get more of a syrupy sweetness in the opening which settles after just a few minutes into a more warm and powdery scent that is more pleasant and isn't as sharp. The opening isn't bad, but the drydown is where this shines and you don't have to wait more than a few minutes for that part of the fragrance to come through.

Life is all about taking detours and one Detour you should add is Detour Rouge Arabian perfume spray from Al Haramain perfumes. Floral, fruity, sp... I've just received 3 bottles of this. I'm smelling it for the first time and wow, this is incredible. The first thing it reminds me of is Spicebomb Extreme, but with more citruses, blood orange and apple and a slight different blending of the oriental spices. The citrus and oriental spices combination has a vague similarity to Paco Rabanne One Million, but I'm getting more blood orange and apple as the fruits.

Do not forget that we are talking about economically very affordable perfumes €20-30, with exceptional quality, but still similar and inspired by very expensive perfumes. What I found is that is I spray more than two sprays it becomes too much for me. With two sprays I can smell it throughout the whole day, but it's not too much.

Both me and my girlfriend could pull this off leans a bit to the male side though. Never tried pdm Layton but idc even if it’s not similar this is amazing. Longevity on my skin easy 12+ and even then it still projects around 1/2 feet. Dis a no brainier Also I’m not the most experienced Layton-sniffer I must confess and I’m not as crazy about it as most other people but there is a difference in quality. similarity with PdM Layton, no kidding. I tested it for few days, left side - Detour Noir, right side - Layton. I barely can tell which one is which, only with deeply sniff I can smell it that Layton had that kinda refreshing scent to it but it's still very very very very very minimal. You wouldn't know it if its not a deep sniff and if it's not tested side by side. Performance too almost identical. I used it in a/c office environment, fyi. Detour Noir all the way after this, sorry PdM. Smells exactly like PDM Layton in the drydown. The first 15min layton has more spice but after 15-30min a non fragrancehead can't tell them apart. A fragrancehead will say Layton is a bit denser, darker, spicier, and oilier. Layton is highly concentrated. But that is where the money went. Detoir Noir is a tiny bit fresher.
