To capture video directly onto a PC using the 4K Capture Utility, or stream using software such as OBS Studio, connect a USB cable to the 4K60 S+ USB port labeled 'USB' and connect the other end to a Windows PC. DO NOT update firmware for any products at any time, unless Elgato Gaming Support tells you to do so for specific troubleshooting purposes. Ignoring this can potentially permanently damage your device. This function is for essentially turning off the device from OBS Studio or turning it on. This can be helpful if you’re experiencing issues as a way to soft reset the device. More information in #Troubleshooting. If the input to 4K60 S+ is 1080p at 30 frames per second, the recording will have a resolution of 1080p and 30 frames per second. While Elgato Game Capture HD is connected to your USB 2.0 bus, please press the Update Firmware button. DO NOT UNPLUG the unit, until the update is compete. While most in-office cards we tested worked, I would suggest you go for one that can support the high bitrate footage and the large file sizes, or you could find yourself looking at stuttering or near unusable video and hours of wasted time.Note: Adding delay to a video source will also add the delay to the audio from that same source. Other audio and video sources in streaming applications must be delayed by around 200ms to match the gameplay video and audio of the Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+. Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+ records to different file types depending on the format of the SD card that is being used. S+ records using a variable bitrate. This option defines the upper limit of bitrate that can be used. Elgato Game Capture 4K60 S+features a powerful H.264/HEVC video encoder which is needed to compress the 4K60 HDR video into a data rate that can be sent over USB 3.0 to a computer or recorded directly onto a SD card without a computer. Compressing the video adds a small amount of latency to the 4K60 S+ when connected to a PC via USB 3.0.This setting will change the container of the recording to MKV. MKV is a corruption resistant container, meaning that if the recording should fail or the SD card is removed during the recording, the file is still usable. Note that not all video editors are compatible with the MKV container.
