About this deal

Forget the price tag on Epiphone's inspired by Gibson series. I own both brands and the Epiphone J-200EC plays as well and sounds as good as some of my more expensive guitars in my home studio! Epiphone really stepped up their game at a reasonable price point. Thank you Sweetwater and Epiphone! Please don't stop what you are doing. Familiar with a legendary vibe. The EJ-200SCE Coupe takes inspiration from the iconic J-200 - the 'king of the Flat Tops'. The J-200 was released in 1937, but since then, it's taken generations of players by storm including the Everly Brothers, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Noel Gallagher. A distinctive, powerful sound.

The EJ-200SCE is an otherwise beautifully appointed instrument. Its tuners are top-notch Grover Rotomatics, and they're finished in gold for some extra sparkle. And like the original SJ-200, it has striking crown inlays on the fretboard. Its pau ferro mustache-style bridge also has beautiful inlays to match, but a simple rosette stops it from looking overly gaudy. One of the most valuable features of the preamp is the phase switch. A phase switch helps you control how two sets of soundwaves interact. When you're playing plugged in, soundwaves sometimes become out of phase. This leads to a thin sound that's underwhelming -- it robs you of your guitar's full sound. Engaging the phase switch stops the issue and makes your plugged-in sound especially rich.

Yes, jumbo guitars work perfectly fine for fingerstyle playing and strumming. Can an Epiphone be as good as a Gibson? A. If the standard guarantee with the product is 2 years, by adding this Extended Guarantee the total period of cover would be 5 Years. For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs. The Gibson J-200 acoustic guitar should send shivers down your spine. If the name doesn’t ring a bell, shame on you! But, the legacy of this famous guitar lives on in the EJ 200SCE. Let’s get a glimpse into how royalty was passed on to the acoustic electric counterpart of the “King of the Flat-tops.” There’s a surprising amount of sound shaping, and it’s easy to get a good tone dialed in. The quality of amplified sound is natural sounding and as good as we’ve heard for an electro-acoustic at this price. Playability

The Gibson Epiphone EJ 200SCE Guitar is a cherished prize. While it may not be “the” Gibson King of the Flat-tops, it’s still an excellent guitar that’ll fool your crowd with the authentic tones of an acoustic. In general, Gibson guitars feature a better quality than Epiphone guitars. Nevertheless, in many cases the differences between these guitars aren’t that obvious. That’s why a lot of guitarists think that Gibson guitars are overpriced. Is Epiphone a good guitar brand? This is a very well made and well-finished guitar manufactured in Korea. It has a solid spruce top and a laminate maple body. This is a flat-topped guitar, and unlike its expensive counterpart, it features non-scalloped bracing.

Customer Reviews

If your wallet doesn’t stretch to that other big Jumbo guitar, that we’re not going to mention by name, then the Epiphone EJ 200SCE should definitely be on your list.

Few acoustic guitars offer the power of a jumbo. And among jumbos, the Gibson SJ-200 is a legend. But if you're looking for a more affordable version the Epiphone EJ-200SCE just might be right for you. Today, we'll walk through some of its key features. Things to Consider Before Buying a Jumbo Acoustic Guitar Yes, Epiphone is a really good and reputable manufacturer of acoustic and electric guitars. Their gear is definitely worth it! SummaryControls: FishmanPresyswith Volume control, Phase and Contour switches, and a built-in tuner with LED display The sound of the Gibson is dominant and forceful but organic. The tone woods ensure that you have more than enough balance whether you’re playing unplugged or plugged-in! Pros However, there’s no denying by anyone in the crowd that this bad boy has heft and projection. For performances, it’s not going to let you down, and it’s going to cut through the noise to get attention.

Traditional and tone enhancing. The Epiphone EJ-200SCE Coupe features a real bone nut. This produces incredible resonance and sustain. It also brings a vintage touch to your EJ-200SCE's authentic aesthetic. Additionally, a bone nut is a luxury addition to acoustic instruments, it brings balance to your tone whilst being long-lasting, and superbly durable. You'll also benefit from bone's natural ability to self lubricate. Why will you benefit? Well, it keeps you in tune for longer periods of time, as well as enhancing your tone - truly sublime. Specs The truth is that Epiphone EJ-200SCE is an absolutely great mid-level acoustic-electric guitar. Although it’s not the best guitar in the world, it definitely stands out from other models at this price level. It is also worth mentioning that the manufacturer equipped this model with a high quality Pau Ferro fretboard, which feels very smooth. The Epiphone EJ-200SCE Acoustic/Electric Guitar is a jumbo-sized guitar. Think if of a dreadnought but bigger again. There’s approximately enough wood in this thing to make a small-sized house.

Models

I have no hesitation in recommending this guitar to everyone who’s searching for a great sounding and reliable jumbo-style acoustic-electric guitar. Maple: Offering a brighter tone with more high end, Maple fretboards also wear over time which can be attractive if you want your axe to look lived-in.
