People all over the world love the F-91W because it just works. The only complaint anyone ever has about the F-91W is that the nightlight is terrible. Solution? Buy an F105W. Problem solved. I don't know exactly when this watch was introduced to market, but it definitely came shortly after Timex released watches with the the Indiglo nightlight technology in 1992. My guess is that at earliest, the F105W is probably a design from the mid-1990s. Is the F105W exactly the same as the F-91W? I’ve always considered the weak light to be a feature. Completely adequate for reading the time at night (i. e. in bed), but guaranteed not to wake whoever you happen to share that bed with. Also great outside because it doesn’t destroy your night vision. Casio F105W: A Step Up from the F91W (Review)

W800H: Nothing wrong with this watch at all. It's the strap. Too long. For larger-wristed folk, this is the ideal good cheap Casio digital because it has everything you'd want from an F-91W with a larger case, and in addition shows the full date with year on the main display. I would own one of these myself were it not for that long strap. IIRC after about 30 feet, the pressure is sufficient that the buttons do not work any more- they all get pushed in at the same time because the pressure outside easily overcomes the small amount of atmospheric pressure inside the watch. So I guess it is technically correct that depth and submersion didn’t damage the watch, but it was functionally useless. I suspect that would be the case for this Casio in the article. I don't feel the 7g difference if there is one, and I don't think anyone else would. Elapsed time, split time and final time are measured with 1/100-sec accuracy. The watch can measure times of up to 1 hour. I gave one to my nephew when he was 6 and it has survived over four years of the kind of abuse that only a bit his age can inflict on a a wearable device. Not only that, but it looks almost as good as new. When you want an F-91W with bigger buttons that are easier to press, this watch nails it. Slim profile, ultra lightweight case, proper beep tone that can be heard easily, and you get slightly better water resistance at 50M instead of the F-91W's 30M. and neither Walmart nor Target carry it as far as I know. Personally, I had to buy mine online just to get one. After wearing the W59, I do consider it better than the F-91W. Same functionality, same great legibility, same great reliability, bigger buttons. Works great. Dont know about the f91 but this may give you an idea and it is very nicely written. Its about a Casio A158. Practically the same watch only with Steel bracelet and chromed case. That watch has 4 buttons. If you watch any episode of ELR you will see one button on the right side of the watch during closeups. I think it was mainly the F91, but he did wear the F105 in at least one season. However, as good as the F-91W is for a simple and good wristwatch, what works against it are its buttons. They work, but can be annoying to press as they are just a smidgen too small.Choices of other Casio models that have the same functionality as the F-91W that have bigger buttons are the W800H, the F105W, and the one I'm talking about that I just bought, the W59. Also, the white lettering on the dial and green reflective screen really stand out, even if you are at a distance. It looks more like a Timex in that regard. From a distance it even resembles an Atlantis or old Ironman.

For those not in the know, the F105W is like the F-91W, but with one rather important improvement. The nightlight is a million times better. This is why ILLUMINATOR is so prominent on the watch face. One model that Walmart carries that does have it is the A168. If you like a small digital with a steel bracelet, that's your watch. But if it's not, the resin version is the F105W...
