About this deal

With eight hours until dawn, the six friends must escape, or figure out which of them is the target. But is there a liar among them? Buried secrets will be forced to light and tensions inside the RV will reach deadly levels. Not all of them will survive the night. . . . I enjoyed "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" but this one was mostly meh. I almost DNF after 1 hour but the story got very interesting. Small towns come with their advantages and their disadvantages. They’re usually pretty sleepy, without high incidences of crime. Everyone seems to know each other, probably because they do. You know everyone in town, but the downside of it is that everyone knows you. Sometimes things get a little complicated and shook up when a crime is committed, and everyone in the community starts to feel unsafe for what seems like the first time in years. Five Survive reached number one in the New York Times Young Adult Hardcover Besteller list, week commencing 19/12/2022. There’s a sniper out there. He’s watching them and he knows exactly who they are. One of the group has a secret that the sniper is willing to kill for.

The group's RV heading south for Spring Break broke down in nowhere S. Carolina. Red and her friends realized it was no mishap but the tires were shot by a sniper. The gas tank. No cell service! Okay, now for the fun part. I just seriously want to rant for hours here about how much I was hoping the sniper would just shoot Oliver so he’d just shut up. Dear Lord was he annoying. I usually don’t like unnecessary killings in novels, but I just wanted Oliver gone and didn’t care how it happened. I mean, come on, that dude was psycho. I'm an extreme scaredy-cat when it comes to anything crime or anything that could possibly happen in real life, but I ended up reading this late into the night and I was honestly scared to go to sleep because I have extremely irrational fears. And you know, it does start out that way. People are in good spirits. They're excited for the trip to get underway, but then they get lost.Hi everyone! My name is Heidi Dischler and my passion has always been with words. Whether it be through speaking, reading, or writing, I believe that words can change the world. My hope is that through this blog, I can share with you my words, my novels, and my passion for stories. Everyone believes that Salil Singh killed his girlfriend, Andrea Bell, five years ago—except Pippa Fitz-Amobi.

She decides that the only way to do this is to put on a podcast and talk about it. Pippa’s able to make the true crime podcast with Ravi’s assistance, and it’s out just a short time before going viral. Now Pippa has not only something to say, but more followers than ever. When readers last left Pippa Fitz-Amobi, she was working hard on her final project and doing her own sleuthing to come up with results. She started finding out more than she even thought she would, and now some time has passed.what i didn’t like is sometimes red’s inner monologue got to be a bit much at times. i found myself getting annoyed by her because of this. You can tell from the start that Red is recovering from a trauma that has happened in her life. Since she can't afford to fly anywhere for break, her best friend, Maddy, actually suggests the RV trip. Good-naturedly, everyone else agrees. There is a lot to really enjoy in this story and there is great energy to the writing, as well as some fine characterization' - Peter James, award-winning and no.1 bestselling crime thriller author of Detective Superintendent Roy Grace series - okay i HATEDDDDDDDDDDDDDD OLIVER WITH SUCH A PASSION. it's been a hot second since I hated a character as much as him. I swear i clapped when that sorry excuse of a man died. he was the worst. He was he main villain when he thought he was the main character. I liked Arthur wayyyy more and we know what he did. Twisty, compulsive and so, so clever' - Savannah Brown, author of The Truth About Keeping Secrets -

Reyna is Mexican American and Simon Yoo is presumed biracial, White and Asian American. He talks about his "white uncle" and later identifies him as his mother's brother. Arthur- I liked how he protected Red a lot and they were pretty cute together 🥰 Other than that, I wish we'd gotten to learn a bit more about him but he was a decent character ✨ Red Kenny is on a road trip for spring break with five friends: Her best friend - the older brother - his perfect girlfriend - a secret crush - a classmate - and a killer. Overall, my expectations for ‘Five Survive’ were well exceeded; that scene with Red and her mother at the end?? I was crying like a baby, it was so beautifully done. Everything was tied up perfectly, while still leaving an open end for us to decide what happens, possibly my favorite way for a book to end. just be prepared to hate oliver. no spoilers in the sense of whether he is involved with being the actual perp in this book, he's just a terrible, terrible person from the first time he opens his big fat mouth.Families can talk about about how the characters managed to work together as a team in Five Survive. Have you ever been on a team where no one got along? Did you manage to overcome your differences? it had me on the edge of my seat. each character had something about them that had me intrigued. i didn’t trust anyone the whole time. it was super fast paced and the plot twists actually blew my mind. I liked this book. I liked Red's character development, and I liked how fast paced this book was. Regardless of how fast paced it was, it did however feel a little slow in some parts, leaving me to skim read over the descriptions of items like a mirror. I liked how it developed, I liked the ending and plot twists. I guessed 2 of them, which I was proud of myself for, however I did not see all the others coming!! Ivy, Mateo, and Cal used to be close. Now all they have in common is Carlton High and the beginning of a very bad day. Eighteen year old Red and her friends are on a road trip in an RV, heading to the beach for Spring Break.

It was not all too long ago that one of those crimes woke up a small town. The case has since been closed, but the memory stays fresh in the minds of the people that live there. Andie Bell was just a young student at the time, just five short years ago. That was when her life was brutally taken from her. Declared a homicide, Andie was murdered. Redford Kenny or Red. Her story had me bawling my eyes out. She deserves so so much better. She deserves everything 😭❤️That scene with Red and her mother was so beautifully written and I was just crying and crying while reading that part. It really was a lot painful.

Publication Order of Standalone Novels

Once they begin communicating with the individual holding them hostage, it becomes clear, this person knows them. How did they end up here? Was this entire thing planned? This can't be a coincidence. Pippa starts to do her research, but is beginning to discover secrets. Someone living in the small town would like nothing more than for these secrets to stay where they are in the dark. Pippa starts to realize that if Sal is not the true killer, then the murderer who really killed Andie Bell is still at large. Simon- he was kinda the 'comic relief' of the group and I do always like having that kind of character to lighten it up a bit 🤩 but I didn't care for Simon that much- he was just okay.
