The ResourceManager lives across jobs and JobManagers. That enables the use of sessions and the Standalone Mode. Featuring a substantial, built-in rechargeable battery, the Flip 6 is able to keep pumping out the music for up to 12 hours. Recharge time is just 2.5 hours. The ResourceManager, JobManager, TaskManager, and SlotPool need strong unit tests for the protocol. As with its predecessor, there are a few things missing on the Flip 6’s spec sheet when pitted against some of its direct Bluetooth speaker competition. Want to conduct a phone call using the Flip 6? Sadly, that’s not possible – there are no mics here, nor is there an aux-in for wired listening, but in a portable speaker famed chiefly for its sonic capabilities, we can overlook said omissions provided the sound is indeed worth it.

One change we do expect is an upgraded camera system. A very early rumor hints at the possibility that we could see a 50MP primary camera instead of the tried and tired 12MP sensor we've had for the past two generations (previous Z Flip models also used smaller 12MP sensors). The phone would likey use pixel binning to capture 12.5MP images, but the added resolution could bring in more detail and possibly more light. Currently, the JobManager accepts multiple concurrent jobs, but has no notion of “fair-”, “capacity-based-”, or “priority-based-” scheduling. In this proposal, we delegate all notion of cross-job resource prioritization to frameworks like YARN and Mesos, which already implement that. The new design includes the concept of a Dispatcher . The dispatcher accepts job submissions from clients and starts the jobs on their behalf on a cluster manager. The JBL Flip 6 is the latest addition to the brand’s extensive range of Bluetooth speakers, which includes the larger JBL Charge 5, eye-catching JBL Pulse 4 and ultra-compact JBL GO 3. The tubular housing sits at 178mm high and roughly 70mm in diameter, making it easy to slip into a bag for a day out. Weighing just 550g and featuring a convenient carry strap, it’s also light enough to lug around by hand. As well as feeling solid and durable, the overall look is suitably stylish regardless of which colour option you plump for.ResourceManager and JobManager run inside a regular Mesos container. The Dispatcher is responsible for monitoring and restarting those containers in case they fail.
