Environment: it goes without saying that one of the most important aspects to consider is the environment: is the sealant sufficiently impermeable and oil, diesel and gasoline resistant?Characteristics of gasoline and diesel resistant sealant systems Sealants for gas stations must be oil, diesel and gasoline resistant, strong and abrasion resistant. Chemical resistance: the sealant must not be affected by fuels and oil but retain its strength and sealing properties even when some fuel is spilled to the ground. Petrol stations. Harsh chemicals such as petrol and motor oil are always present at service stations. Petrol resistant products are used as a coating and sealant to protect station floors. This helps keep the soil and groundwater clean and reduces fire hazards. It also prevents staining from grease and oil. Petrol resistant sealants are similarly used on workshops and factory floors. Durability and need for maintenance: sometimes it is better to invest in a sealant which application takes longer, but which does not require frequent maintenance. However, it can also be a conscious choice to keep the downtime at its minimum, even if it meant more frequently short periods of maintenance.
