About this deal

I absolutely loved the Greek setting for this book, I really felt like I was swept away. It added a summery and tense atmosphere to the book that I lapped up. The short chapters kept the tension high and the pace fast, I felt like I was flying through the book. I loved the clear shifts between multiple points of view. Once I was able to decipher who each character was, it added so much depth. I loved seeing the thoughts of each character and developing a real understanding of their personalities. Six women (Bella, Fen, Robyn, Eleanor, Ana, Lexi) have traveled to a sun-soaked Greek island for Lexi's hen weekend. What should have been fun in the sun, turned into much, much, more. One of the women, has a secret. But who, which one and what secret? Everyone seems a bit on edge, Bella's not crazy about Lexi's new friend, Ana. Who even is she anyway!? Then there is the future sis-in-law, she's awkward. Of course there's tension with Robin. Bella and Robin have been estranged since that incident in high school. And why is Fen acting so remote? Thanks so much to Netgalley and HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction for the opportunity to read/review the latest book by Lucy Clarke. My favourite book of the year was The Castaways and I recently read You let me in so I knew I would enjoy the latest book by Lucy Clarke and it doesn't disappoint.

I soon grew tired of hearing about how gorgeous and charming Lexi was and how her BFF is so protective of Lexi's time and how wild she is. Character driven, trapped in an island with a murderer premise sets on Greek Island of Aegos with well played, smart twists and unexpected conclusion! Yes, I’m easily sold! The conclusion was so unexpected and totally worth the wait! Nothing about this book seemed corny or OTT and I also really liked that about this book. The guest list is small, just Bella, Lexi, Fen, Robin, Bella and Lexi's other closest friend from childhood, Eleanor, Lexi's soon to be sister-in-law, and Ana, a new friend Lexi has made in her adult life. The crew of the pleasure boat is composed of young travelers with wanderlust and it is not long before the two girls’ dream of romance comes true. Whenever she travels, she often keeps a journal and always thought it would be tempting and intriguing to read another person’s travel journal. Lucy Clarke goes from strength to strength; this utterly addictive, trouble-in-paradise novel is her best yet. The plot shifts like sand beneath the reader’s feet.” — Erin Kelly, bestselling author of Watch Her Fall I did not see the twists coming and felt like I was on a rollercoaster! Just as I thought things would settle another twist was thrown into the mix. I loved the slow uncovering of the truth as secrets were aired. I also thoroughly enjoyed the ending, it felt like a great way to wrap this story up. I listened to the audiobook of this novel and really liked the narrator. I will definitely be reading more by Lucy Clarke from now on! I loved One Of The Girls: beautiful writing, suffused with menace, complicated female heroines, and an ending I couldn’t predict.”— Gillian McAllister, bestselling author of That Night

The story is told from alternating perspectives of each of the women, and that helped me keep them all straight and learning about their inner motivation, insecurities, desires, and plans. I was definitely surprised many times with the twists and turns the story took, and I grew to like or at least appreciate each of the women even though some of them took me a while to warm up to. Shoutout to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.If we'd been more astute, if we'd listened more closely, if we'd not turned away from her - from ourselves - we could have stopped it. That's what makes this so much worse. We could have changed it. The highlight of the novel isn't the story and/or the characters but the Greek island the six women travel to for a friend's bachelorette trip. If you liked Big Little Lies, Lucy Clarke’s One of the Girls should definitely be on your TBR. Filled with suspense and mystery, One of the Girls will keep you guessing which friend is the behind the murderous plot.”– PopSugar Thank you to NetGalley, Lucy Clark, and Penguin Group for my advance electronic copy set to publish June 28, 2022.

Remind me to never go on a weekend getaway with 5 other friends to a beautiful secluded villa somewhere in Enchanting Greece and possibly never returning. Absolutely likable thriller if you enjoy the great Greek island premise and strong character driven mysteries! This would make a great book for lounging by the pool or relaxing on vacation. This doesn't take much thought and is an enjoyable read. One of the Girls follows a group of women on a hen weekend for Lexi. But there are many hidden secrets among the women, will they all make it home safely? Ho-hum....another book with girls in the title where the girls are off to an exotic location where everyone has a secret, someone dies and everything is resolved.I definitely would recommend this to any Reader who enjoys a lot of deep drama in their stories. We're talking interpersonal relationships so mired, you wonder why the characters are even friends. Personally, I love that.

When Lucy Clarke is not writing her novels, she can often be found in the outdoors. Being a very outdoorsy person, she loves to engage in camping, paddleboarding, hiking, windsurfing and barbecuing with friends. Lucy Clarke goes from strength to strength; this utterly addictive, trouble-in-paradise novel is her best yet. The plot shifts like sand beneath the reader’s feet.”— Erin Kelly, bestselling author of Watch Her Fall As an author, she never gets to completely switch off as everything she does and everything that happens around her can be an inspiration for her next work.DISCLOSURE: Thank you to Harper Collins UK, Harper Fiction via Netgalley for providing a digital ARC of One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke for review. All opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own personal opinions. When I tell you the dramatic narrative left me unable to put this down, I am not exaggerating. I loved how this was formatted to slowly reveal the truth of all the relationships at play here. It's complicated, but so is life. years later while they are remembering her son’s death, Jacob, the son that had been found goes missing once again. Sarah panics and puts together a search team but the kid is nowhere to be found. All the women said that Ed’s death was just an accident. Ana and Lexi stayed friends. Eleanor was slowly healing. Fen and Robyn got married. The Review: This wasn't thrilling or twisty; I saw all of the twists coming, not to mention I had a difficult time liking and/or relating to any of the women.
