The Puma RS-G shoe's style won't be to everyone's taste but it is a great shoe if you're a golfer who likes to make a statement with their fashion style on the course. This was clear to feel when I slipped them on and it became even more obvious when I began to walk the course and take my swings. Upon first glance, the 2022 Puma IGNITE Articulate Disc golf shoe does not stray too far from the looks that have been so popular in previous iterations. The adjustable disc rids users of laces while the associated cord wraps the top of the shoe with two plastic tabs. The tongue does not separate from the foot opening as seen in previous IGNITE versions.

These Puma shoes are as well-rounded as any golf shoes I’ve worn this year, comfortable, modern design, and have plenty of grip to swing hard in. Pictured in this review is the Quiet Shade and Puma Silver color scheme but there are five other color combinations available. The first is, as I mentioned, the wide version isn’t as wide as some other wide shoes. My feet are only kinda fat, so I’m good, but the width could be problematic for guys with really fat feet. I’m looking at you, Dave Wolfe. When trying a pair on for the first time, listen for the 'whoosh' sound when you slide your feet in - that's the sound of all the air leaving the shoe to confirm it is the correct size, but do a walking test to be sure. They shouldn't pinch anywhere, nor should your feet be moving around inside. The lightweight TPU saddle give these golf shoes levels of support and stability you would expect out of more traditional heavy golf shoe. The GS-Fast comes with a wide rubber outsole that is littered with a ton of small rubber studs. That means these shoes are better used as a summer golf shoe but still performed very well in slightly soft autumnal conditions with their grippy outsole providing solid traction on the turf. They are also completely waterproof and are very easy to wipe down after your round.

Performance

Articulating PWRCAGE– PUMA’s strategic use of vowels and capitalization is sometimes baffling but the point is that the PWRCAGE structure provides a more secure fit. To a degree, it mimics what you get with BOA and Disc systems. PUMA have always been a front runner when pushing the boundaries to design trendy yet functional golf shoes and the GS-Fast, an update on their much talked about RS-G Golf Shoes, certainly continues that trend. These are a statement shoe for those players wanting to complete a streetwear look on the course. Admittedly these shoes will not be everyone's cup of tea and we did get several comments about them from playing partners and other members of the golf course when we first tested them out.
