I was also pleasantly suprised that over 1 month and many rains later it still is working! The Rain-X Rain Repellent improves your visibility when driving in rain, sleet and snow. It seals the microscopic pores on the windscreen glass to create an invisible water-repellent barrier.

True to its name, this cleaner leaves glass surfaces looking so flawless that it’ll look practically invisible. We think it's pretty impressive that this powerful foaming formula removes smudges, fingerprints, smoke haze, and more. It’s also highly effective on tough stains like mud, bird droppings, and tape residue. Because it doesn’t contain any ammonia, it’s safe to use on tinted windows, auto glass, boats, and stainless steel appliances. Directions: Spray the product on the glass in small sections. Wipe away with a clean towel to remove dirt and grime. Wipe with the dry side of the towel to leave a streak-free water-beading coating. Allow at least an hour before exposure to rain or water. Of course after cleaning and prepping the glass with X-Treme Clean, I then apply Rain-X to the surface. I use both products on all exterior glass surfaces on my car- windshield, side windows, rear, sunroof- everything. It not only improves visibility dramatically in rain, but also helps prevent ice formation in winter. While ice will still form to the glass at times, it won't have the tenacity on treated glass that it will on untreated glass.

This is the ideal product to use when Rain-X Rain Repellent needs to be re-applied to a pre-treated windscreen. The 2-in-1 formula will clean the surface and prepare this effectively for the Rain Repellent, which will be applied at the same time to create a clear finish that will repel water and rain. Yes, this stuff cleans really well, but so does white vinegar and water. I don't see what the big de al is. It did a really nice job on my windscreen and headlights. I didn't realise how dirty my headlights had become. But - it took quite a bit of elbow grease, and removing it was a chore. You may have by now figured out I'm a huge fan of Rain-X products, and that's true. In the interest of full disclosure, I'll also tell you that I was provided this sample free in exchange for a true and unbiased review, good or bad. It was my good fortune to receive a product for review that I'm so familiar with and a fan of! WalMart (who provided the bottle for my review) had no way of knowing that I am a long-time Rain-X user, and very familiar with their product line.
