A preload adjusting plug in the base of the seatpost tunes the suspension. Numbers one to five are printed within its thread pitch and relate to rider weight and the spring(s). Turn the preload plug to the required position and fit the post. According to Ergon, it provides up to 20mm of rearward deflection, but the exact amount will vary depending on the weight of the rider and the force of the impacts encountered. The Thudbuster LT (Long Travel) has a larger linkage system than the ST with 3” (76mm) of travel via two barrel-shaped active elastomers.
