The wireless thermostat includes all the features of the previous RT series with a larger, more intuitive LCD display and a handy new suite of additional operational and efficiency functions.

If you've tried every step above to no avail, it may be time to consider relocating your thermostat. While the best spot may not be the most ideal, it's going to make your device function more easily. Optimum Stop calculates how long the house will take to cool down, then turns off the boiler at the earliest possible moment, this means the system is not running when it's not actually necessary. If there is a sudden heat loss during this period, then Optimum Stop will be overridden to regain comfort conditions. There are more expensive brands on the market. For instance, Honeywell offer a tonne of wireless thermostats. But, they’re typically a lot more expensive than the equivelent Salus stat. notifications in case of emergencies: for example, if the child opens a safety door or with dangerous objects READ NEXT: Common thermostatic shower problems and fixes. Common SALUS Wireless Thermostat ProblemsThe Salus RT 520 RF features a wireless receiver that allows communication with the thermostat from anywhere within the home. This means that users can conveniently control their heating settings from any room without the need for wires or cables. The wireless functionality also makes installation hassle-free. Optimum Start is a selectable function which, depending on the ambient room temperature, will start the boiler operation at the optimum time to achieve the set-point temperature. It saves energy by only firing the boiler for the minimum required time. At the end of the day, it boils down to knowing how wireless devices work, and what common issues with all of them are. Generally, the fix is similar, regardless of if it's a phone, doorbell, or thermostat. There are three common issues that arise with SALUS wireless thermostats. Batteries, connection, and location. They're all the same issues that you'll experience with other wireless devices like phones, earbuds, and other smart home devices. In fact, we have another article detailing how to troubleshoot a wireless doorbell that could likely help here, as well. Is there any chance that the TRV are actually controlling the boiler ie by keeping them on max they are continually trying to regulate the room temp? ( I think max is 25c+) I would have thought the Salus should be the one dictating what the boiler should do though otherwise is it impossible to have timed CH. Cheers.

Hi I have the same problem as Grovis. I have the salus rt500rf and a potteron gold he. Does anyone know where the switch is inside the boiler to turn off the override that keeps it heating as abovr. Remembering to replace batteries regularly is important for all electronics that rely on them. Believe it or not, batteries have a lifespan, just like everything else! Landlord settings is a pin code protected feature that allows the landlord to set a service reminder on the thermostat that will warn the tenant when the boiler is due its annual service. Thanks for the responses. I have set all 5 cycles on the thermostat. TRV are on max setting in the living room where I keep the thermostat. At 10pm the thermostat will hit the 5th cycle and should tell the boiler to maintain a room temp of 5c. I am currently in the living room with the rads very hot to the touch and a reading of 22.5c so I would expect the boiler to switch off the CH mode and the heat to leave my rads. I am actually going to go and watch the boiler at 10pm to see what/ if anything happens. If my rads are still boiling hot at 11 then I know the Salus thermostat is bloody useless!!! When OpenTherm is connected, the device software will automatically adjust to the OpenTherm settings. When the frost protection mode is activated, the boilers temperature will be set automatically to 5 degrees. That’s just enough temperature to keep pipes from freezing and your boiler operational. The Salus RT520RF is the latest addition to SALUS’ tried and tested RT range of thermostat heating controls. That means you’ll be able to program your heating specifically for each day of the week, rather than a traditional thermostat/timer that only allows one timed program for heating and hot water.

If you already use the SALUS range, fill in the form and you will join our partner installers database. OpenTherm Modulating Control is a method of control used by modern heating systems. Instead of switching a boiler on and off at intervals, modulating control allows the amount of heat provided by the boiler to be controlled to match the varying demand from the thermostat. This means the customer has greater system efficiency, energy saving and room comfort from our heating controls. So if your SALUS wireless thermostat problems seem to be tied to power, try replacing them first before moving on.

As with most wireless electronics, your connection is vital. If you're noticing your SALUS wireless thermostat problems include a poor connection (or disconnecting regularly), then this is a good place to start. Have you used all five time/temperature settings on the Salus? You must set no five to be the overnight one, even if it means setting two the same. Remove the batteries from the thermostat, wait 30 seconds and replace them, then press the reset button (This will delete your programmed settings though) The RT520RF is the latest addition to SALUS’ tried and tested RT range of thermostat heating controls. During the pairing process, please make sure the thermostat and the receiver are at least 1 meter from each other.
