The Lily is an excellent choice for those in search of a fitness-focused smartwatch that doesn't look like one. Its attractive, female-focused design is its biggest selling point, but it also offers an impressive set of health-related features and decent battery life for its small size. The Lily works with both iOS and Android smartphones via the Garmin Connect app. If you’re into ultra running, diving, or long-distance cycling then this would be a good choice as it can stand up to the environment and has much-improved battery life by comparison to the standard line of Apple Watches, lasting up to 60 hours when in low-power mode. Part of what helps to keep the battery going is the return of TicWatch’s secondary FSTN display which sits above the main panel and is able to convey key information like your step count, heart rate and the time of day in a low power state. Plus, it can now also flash a particular colour during a workout to indicate your heart rate zone without needing to wake up the watch.
An associated app, HeartAdvisor is available for both Apple and Android phones and can help provide useful information to share with a doctor. Samsung's latest smartwatches feature popular Google apps like Assistant, Maps, and the Play Store, alongside Samsung's Bixby, Buds Controller, Pay, and more. The Pixel Watch features all the Google standbys, including Assistant, Gmail, Home, Maps, the Play Store, and Wallet.It’s not worth upgrading to if you have the original Apple Watch SE, but if you’re looking for your first Apple wearable and you don’t want to spend too much money in the process, then there’s a lot to love about the Apple Watch SE 2. How Are Smartwatches and Fitness Trackers Different?
If you're looking for a smartwatch with support for cellular calling and third-party apps, this isn't it. Instead, the Versa 4 is a strong option for anyone in search of an attractive fitness-focused smartwatch that keeps things simple. If you want even more wellness-focused bells and whistles, including an ECG sensor for heart rhythm assessments and a cEDA sensor for a more robust stress management experience, the Fitbit Sense 2 is an excellent alternative.
For activation and setup, Fitbit devices require the Fitbit app, which is compatible with smartphones running at least Android 9 or iOS 15. Fitbit is in the process of migrating its app to Google's authentication platform. At this point, all new users will need a Google account to log into the Fitbit app. Legacy Fitbit users will soon need to migrate their account over to Google's platform to log in, a fairly painless process we detail in our Versa 4 review. For its screen display technology, the smartwatch has a full circular screen display. A 1.28” inch TFT LCD screen, it’s a full touch screen with responsive and intuitive menus. With regards to its screen resolution, the wearable has a 240 x 240 pixel resolution, it’s inferior to other models, but still it gives crisp graphics, a bright color display. On top of the LCD is a 2.5D tempered glass protection with crystal clear clarity. While the Garmin Enduro 2 can last for up to 33-days on a single charge, the Vertix 2 trumps that with a staggering 60-day battery life in smartwatch mode. Yes, you read that right – two whole months. It has a metal body measuring 45.5 mm x 10.7 mm, a medium size wearable, that is light, and at the same time durable with its IP67 waterproof rating. It is splashproof, wash proof, and dustproof as well. It’s probably best to say right off the bat that if you have a Garmin Fenix 7 then there’s no need to immediately go out and upgrade to the newer Fenix 7 Pro. The reason being that the upgrades here are relatively small, but if you’re looking to buy your first high-end Garmin watch, or even just invest in a proper running watch to hit your fitness goals, then the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro is easily one of the company’s best.
