About this deal

This gin may not have been possible in 1830 when Charles Tanqueray first developed the recipe for his gin. Fresh citrus, especially in the reliable quantities to make a gin like this would have either been quite expensive or just simply not available in 19th century London on a predictable basis. The whole citrus is distilled separately from the other botanicals. The two distillates are blended, diluted and bottled. Tasting Notes When summer heat creeps in, the antidote is an ultra-refreshing cooler. This drink takes advantage of the gin’s herbal side, freshening it up with some cucumber. The infusion takes a little time but you’ll be very pleased with the results. You can experiment a bit with your herb selection, perhaps adding a bit of dried lavender, rosemary, and/or thyme.

Think of this gin as a tip of the hat to Charles Tanqueray, founder of the nearly two-century-old brand. It honors the man’s perfectionism, which is written all over his recipes and resulting work. Tanqueray didn’t just make spirits worth drinking, he made spirits worth savoring. TEN is one the late founder would be most proud of. Tanqueray Sterling Vodka was introduced in 1989 and is available in both neutral and citrus flavours. Its main market is the United States. Tang Ten remains one of my staple martini gins. It’s juniper forward without being overly hot on the tongue. Far preferable to Sapphire.Charles Tanqueray created the world's finest London Dry Gin in 1830 and it is made today to the same classic, timeless recipe. Tanqueray No. Ten was created with this heritage in mind and set the standard as one of the very first ultra-premium gins. I’ve tried them all in my search to find the perfect tasting Dry Martini. From Monkey 47 buzz to several creative botanicals chemistry. Tasted more than 20 gin options and in the end Tanqueray n°10 is my holy grail choice. If you want THE dry martini, it scores 10.

Tanqueray is a London dry gin, reflecting its distillation process and origin in Bloomsbury, London. London dry gin is made by double distilling grain, with select botanicals added during the second distillation. While the Tanqueray recipe is a closely guarded trade secret, it is known to contain four botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica root and liquorice, all common botanicals in gin productions overall. Nose: Tanqueray No. 10 Gin is juniper led. It has bright lime zest with hints red grapefruit, just above a clean licorice and angelica note. a b c Stevenson, Seth (11 July 2005). "Ready to Tanqueray?". Slate Magazine . Retrieved 25 September 2020. Definitely a good gin. I have more positive feelings about it. The citrus gets me. I like that smooth round citrus finish you describe…it hits my tastebud buttons nicely. Take your Collins to the tropics with this sunny riff. It banks on the drink’s customary call for fresh lime and soda and adds an aromatic addition of pineapple, taking the drink straight to a faraway island. If you thought only rum could offer such a vacation in a glass, think again.
