About this deal

The only complaint I have is that in dusty or sandy environments, the open design of the Teva Hurricane XLT2 allows small particles to enter. While this didn’t significantly impact their overall performance, it required occasional cleaning to maintain optimal breathability. 5. Comfort I was pleasantly surprised by the stability and confidence the sandals offered, especially on steep and challenging terrains. The durable and grippy outsole comes with reliable traction on both dry and slippery surfaces, ensuring stability and preventing slips, and you can rely on the Hurricane XLT 2 hiking sandal to offer good ventilation for your toes. I have fairly flat feet, but these sandals don't have an extreme arch, so they were perfect for the shape of my feet. The footbed is soft, cushioned, and breathable, while the rubber sole has traction that allowed me to walk across the many types of terrain, wet and dry, of the Bay without worry. It was easy to get a comfortable fit by adjusting the three different Velcro straps. Chevron icon It indicates an expandable section or menu, or sometimes previous / next navigation options. The only complaint I have is in regards to the insoles: they aren’t great with sweat management. The main reason I wear sandals is that it’s just too hot to wear anything else, therefore, I deal with this sweat problem a lot. It surprised me because the same insoles deal with water quite well, but for some reason the sweat seems to be completely different. When it comes to waterproofing, the Teva Hurricane XLT 2 hiking sandal is well-designed to handle the beach and wet trails. The classic Teva design utilizes three adjustable straps that run behind the heel and twice over the top of the foot for a secure, intuitive fit. Though they both adjust the same, we prefer the padded webbing of the Terra Fi 4 (right) to the previously tested XLT 2.

Materials

The webbing upper in the Teva Hurricane XLT 2 sandal, coupled with strategically placed cutouts, provides good ventilation. Patterns are also a hallmark of Teva. In addition to solid colors, it makes more fun and funky options. Collaborations with designers like Anna Sui and trendy startups like Outdoor Voices further opens its fanbase past pure outdoorspeople to fashion-minded recreationalists. At only 1 lb. 4 oz., this great pair of sandals felt lightweight and airy, which was particularly appreciated during hot weather.

Not a whole lot to say here, the fit was spot on! I’m not sure why these aren’t offered in half sizes, so I imagine that they won’t grant the perfect fit to everybody, but they sure did for me! Grievances While the Teva Hurricane XLT2 is a reliable outdoor pair of sandals, it does have a few areas where it could be improved. To be clear, the tactile comfort of the straps is great and this never caused any problems. However, the position of the tensioner on the forefoot could use some adjustment. This is the cause of the pressure point. I have an extremely narrow foot so it could be specific to my feet. With all footwear, I really need to crank down the tension system, whether it’s laces, straps, BOA, etc. Fit The webbing and straps are durable and perform well in the water. The heel cushion is a nice touch for comfort. See the full Teva Hurricane XLT 2 review below, and see where it ranks on our Best Hiking Sandals guide. Teva Hurricane XLT 2 Specifications

Teva Hurricane XLT 2

I’m a big Teva fan and am still frequently using the pair of Terra Floats I got about five years ago now. I’d say that even despite the amount I’ve put my pair through, they’ve held up impressively well, with no loss of cushioning and no wear and tear. What I noticed though is that the fit can be a bit narrow, especially in the toe box area. Furthermore, Teva doesn’t do half sizes, so if you have wide feet, you may need to size up a full size. How It Evolved? It has a minimalist design with a secure strapping system and a Vibram outsole for reliable traction.

These sandals are particularly suited for day hiking, water activities like kayaking, and adventures in wet environments. With their reliable waterproofing capabilities, they keep your feet dry and comfortable even when traversing streams, puddles, or a wet trail. Moreover, the secure stitching and reinforced toe area provided additional protection against potential damage. Despite encountering rough terrain and sharp objects, the Teva Hurricane XLT2 maintained its structural integrity. The Teva Hurricane XLT are open-toe, 4-strap hiking sandals that can take on trails or water with ease. They don’t have a toe-post, have been updated for increased grip and a softer EVA midsole. If you want a pair of do-it-all hiking sandals this is a good place to start. By featuring more padding in the heel area and a contoured footbed, the Teva Hurricane XLT 2 provided excellent alignment, reducing strain on my heel and promoting proper posture. The Teva Hurricane XLT line is a time-honored classic when it comes to open-toe, heavily-webbed active sandals. You’ve probably seen them on a foot (or two). Teva recently updated the classic with the new Hurricane XLT 2. This sandal has improved traction, a softer heel strap, and the same solid styling. Compared to the Teva Hurricane XLT2 sandal, the Cairn Adventure sandal offers a more minimalist feel and is lighter in weight. This is Teva’s in-house sole, and the traction is greatly improved from previous versions of the Hurricane. The Teva Hurricane XLT 2 sandal didn’t hinder my movements or make me feel fatigued, allowing me to enjoy my summer adventures without any unnecessary burden.
