About this deal

What happens when you moved into a new home and you find a card from the old owner that says ‘I knew they’d kill me at Christmas.’? Well, read it and find out in ‘The Cove(n) at Christmas’, the final story in the book (which is a dream come true – I’ve always wanted to be the final story in an anthology!). Ha sido una lectura entretenida, pero la verdad es que esperaba mucho más. Como siempre, valorar una antología es difícil, porque no todos los relatos gustan por igual. Since this year I am trying to actually follow my reading goals and not forget I ever made them after two days, I have decided to DNF this anthology. It's just not for me and I am not getting anything out of it, so I see no reason to push through when I could already be moving on to the next read that has more potential to be amazing and breath-taking. I loved the illustrations, there style was just so much fun, though I just wish there were more of them and not just one per story. Haha.

My favourite story was certainly the first - a proper murder mystery with clues and a crime to solve. Plus the lead was autistic and that helped her as she noticed things other didn't. Plus the wintry setting was key to the mystery being solved - a very confusing clue. Not to mention ballet feels very Christmassy too! It certainly set my expectations high (which might not have helped as it took a long time to get to the next murder.) With stunning illustrations by Harry Woodgate. Join them as part of the Very Merry Murder Club as they lead you on a snow-covered wintery journey of festive foul play and murderously magnificent mysteries! Serena Patel was shortlisted for the Asian Writer Short Story Prize and was a finalist in the Undiscovered Voices Anthology 2018. Her debut children’s series Anisha Accidental Detective won the fiction category of the Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Awards, being shortlisted for a British Book Award and the Blue Peter Prize 2021 and selected for The Reading Agency’s Summer Reading Challenge.

Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing - This book (physically) is so so so pretty! But the contents were less so and I feel bad even writing this. I received an eARC from the publishers through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. It has not affected my opinions. The Very Merry Murder Club is a brilliant new anthology, featuring short stories from a range of top authors!'- Booktrust Here's a round-up of new children's books from the last year (2022), which we think any child aged 8 to 9 will love.

When Ali and Tulip's surgeon mum starts acting strangely, it's up to the Double Detectives to solve the mystery. I have a lovely announcement for you this afternoon, Detectives: there’s a brand-new crime anthology coming your way in October this year! We love the change of settings and styles, the inclusion of stories with nods to classic writers like Agatha Christie, and then historical stories, such as Joanna Williams’ Ice and Fire.I know I will try to read it when I have finished Arsenic for tea. My favourite are Mistletoe and Murder, Jolly Foul Play and A spoon scum of Murder!!😀😀 Thanks so much for your lovely message and for everything that you do with Book Wagon. Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. The diversity rep was brilliant but the storytelling just fell flat for me in the majority of the stories. Abiola Bello, Annabelle Sami, Benjamin Dean, E. L. Norry, Maisie Chan, Roopa Farooki, Nizrana Farook, Patrice Lawrence, Joanna W
