The Ranger’s magic options aren’t nearly so numerous as the Druids, so built-in water breathing is great for rangers in an aquatic campaign. You can cast Animal Friendship, but Friend of the Sea is a passable substitute (assuming that you’re underwater), and with limited spells known that’s a helpful asset. Perception is a great skill for the Ranger, and you can use Trance to get proficiency in Thieves’ Tools, helping to close the skill gap between the Ranger and the Rogue. Johnny Baker is a fire elf and a baker at the Magical Bakery. He is introduced in the first story-arc. He has known the other elves since they were children, and seems to be close friends with Farran and Azari. Johnny spends almost all of his time at the Magical Bakery, though he occasionally manages to get time off, such as when he was able to attend the Dragon Games. The majority of elves that are described in folklore are female, though there were certainly male elves as well. The description of an elf’s appearance varies depending on the time period and the location that the story takes place in. It appears that the majority of female elves are known to be fair creatures. They often have blonde hair and blue or grey eyes (these are also the features that they value in humans) and are known to have characteristics that are similar to humans but much more perfect in nature. There are, of course, some variations in their appearance. These characteristics however, are the most commonly used in fairy tales. Aquatic elven society was based on family and clan. Noble families and monarchs ruled, but in a benign and loose fashion rather than with an iron fist. [5] [7] While women could and did have positions of power, aquatic elven society was largely patriarchal and inheritance ran first through the eldest son. [5]
