But if that is true, who can she still trust? Damien, the man Julia was secretly dating? Leo, her husband’s boss and a close family friend? His son Paul, her husband’s best mate since college? Or Will, her own dear husband, who has betrayed her perhaps one time too many? I love you with every fibre of my being and I will be spending The book is set over the course of one month and when we first meet Will and Livy they are heading to a party at his bosses house. And we get to meet most of the main characters at this party which was a good way to be introduced to them. All except one – Julia – Livy’s best friend.

I knew that this book would be something special from the very start: it made me deviate from my original plan of what I was going to buy. Even as I was looking around, I couldn’t stop thinking about this book, and so it became the newest addition to my bookshelf! Livy cannot believe that her friend has committed suicide and she refuses to let it drop. She believes someone was responsible for Julia's apparent suicide and is adamant she will find out who.I found the first part of the story most interesting because the mystery was quite intriguing. The story is divided into 4 parts, and the latter half is eyebrow raising. I really liked the character of Livy. She is loyal, adores her family and very human in her reactions to events in the book. I would have liked to have seen more of her husband Will however, I didn’t feel that I got to know him as he spent quite a lot of the story away from home on business, and sometimes came across as a bit “cold”. We only meet Julia through other people’s recollections of her. She comes across as warm, funny, sharp – a very colourful character, but one with hidden depths.

The storyline revolved around Livy trying to find both her best friend’s, and her sister’s murderer, and there were plenty of suspects, from Livy’s husband, to Julia’s boyfriend, and Livy really didn’t know who she could trust. I did guess at who the murderer was at around the 71% mark, but it wasn’t confirmed until the 90% mark. I have to admit I guessed the baddie from the start, but there were plenty of other twists and turns I didn't expect along the way - and trust me there are a few. A blazingly sharp, sexy, feminist thriller for those who wished The White Lotus season two was told from the POV of Mia and Lucia.”—Halley Sutton, author of The Hurricane Blonde Julia tried to call Livy the previous night and left messages for her to call her as soon as possible as she wanted to talk to her about something.

The Problem With Our Perceptions

Trust In Me is a psychological thriller about Livy, who loses a sister, a best friend and very nearly a husband. On a quiet, gray, Saturday morning, Livy arrives at her best friend Julia’s flat for a lunch date only to find her dead. Though all the evidence supports it, Livy cannot accept the official ruling of suicide; the Julia she remembers was loud, inappropriate, joyful, outrageous and loving, not depressed. The suspicious circumstances cause Livy to dig further, and she is suddenly forced to confront a horrifying possibility: that Julia was murdered, by the same man who killed Livy's sister, Kara, eighteen years ago. This was a brilliant example of KMod’s talent for creating characters that leave readers speechless. I love that this book further proved that with Kiersten, you could never swallow any detail as too minor. Once on board the ship, a mysterious stranger causes confusion among the group, leading them to ask unsettling questions of one another. You’re one of life’s precious gifts to me and as long as there’s breath in me, I will forever love and cherish you. I love you more than love itself, my love.
