About this deal

The Lian Li O11Dynamic XL Full-Tower stands slightly raised atop rubberised steel feet, meaning that cool air is able to enter the case through the dust filter in the bottom. Thanks to the chimney effect, warm air travels upwards and consequently exits through the roof - which is also equipped with a dust filter. Two additional dust filters cover both perforated grilles in the right side section. The elegant Lian Li O11Dynamic XL Full-Tower is not only a looker, it's more than capable of supporting some serious gaming hardware to make it perfect for PC gaming enthusiasts of all stripes, particularly where water cooling is on the agenda. Massive Drive Capacity If you're saying that changing case configuration changes the fact that 23C air cools better than 28C air, I wanna see the math. Cooling is directly proportional to Delta T ... and Delta T is always, and irrefutably large with ambient air than inside a enclosure generating 500, 600, 700 watts of heat. Still, we'd suggest you ideally add fans to the bottom mount, the side mount, or both. The Lian Li is, after all, designed to hold up to three large radiators. And because of the extreme glass visibility, it practically begs for LED fans galore, whether mounted straight on the case or on radiators. The Lian Li O11 Dynamic Midi Tower standards slightly elevated on steel feet with rubberised standoffs to enable cool air to push its way through the bottom of the case which is equipped with dust filters. The chimney principle causes the warm air to rise upwards, whereupon it escapes through the cover which is also equipped with a dust filter. Two additional dust filters cover both perforated grids in the right side section. The elegant Lian Li O11 Dynamic Midi Tower is not merely a feast for the eyes that is easily capable of housing a great deal of gaming hardware, it is also especially suited for PC enthusiasts that want to create custom loops for cooling their hardware. O11 Dynamic MINI - Think Big. Build Small.Highly Modular

In terms of voltage-regulator temperature, the O11D EVO again barely trails the fan-equipped gaming cases... Fans move air thru the radiation and the rate of heat removal is proportional to Delta T; so what does the math tell us ?

The O11 Dynamic is a great PC chassis with tons of room around to work around. However, it has a limitation of the exhaust due to the absence of a rear fan mount making it a bit harder for those who are going to use a CPU air cooling solution, furthermore, the O11 dynamic has a limitation of 120mm fans everywhere except for that of the top, which could optionally fit two 140mm. However, the O11 Dynamic XL does offer a dedicated rear exhaust fan alongside the option to have room for 140mm fans both at the top and bottom. GPU temperature testing: Unigine Heaven set to Ultra Detail, Extreme Tesselation, and 8x Anti Aliasing at 1440p for 30 minutes. The right part of the front includes an I/O panel with a USB 3.1 Type-C port, two USB 3.0 ports and both obligatory audio ports. Two additional USB 3.0 ports are located on the lower right part of the front section. In between the I/O panel and the tempered glass panel lies an attractive RGB-LED strip that stretches from top to bottom - the lighting of which can be controlled by means of two switches on the front panel. The RGB-LED strip can also be connected to a traditional 5VDG port on compatible motherboards. Abundant Space for Gaming Hardware

Moving to the left is where things are quite interesting. By default, there is a standard ATX PSU opening at the bottom, while there are two covers above this which have dual HDD hot-swap caddies below the cover. These can fit up to four 3.5" or 2.5" drives or a combination of this. However, if you need a genuinely extreme system like the aforementioned Dominus Extreme pushed to the limit. You can have up to three' PSU's in place as the HDD hot-swap bays use standard PSU style mounting so that they can be removed and replaced with power supplies should the need for far more power be needed. Lian Li says the O11D EVO supports Extended ATX (EATX) motherboards up to 11 inches deep, but the full spec for EATX is 13 inches, and motherboards that fall between that size and ATX get labeled in a confusing manner. Our build shows there's plenty of room for motherboards of nearly any depth as long as the radiator mount on the side is left empty. Of course, using that mount is key to making this case look spectacular. Ensuring you have more than enough liquid cooling to support an insane showcase rig or even a heavy lifting platform such as the Dominus Extreme. If you chose to go air cooling the maximum height is 167mm, so you should be fine there and 446mm GPU length, so, yea, I would say you can virtually fit anything in here. The PC011D XL does not come with any fans installed, and therefore you need to source your cooling options based on your brand and style preference. a) GPUs Radiator Inlet Temp - GPUs Radiator Outlet Temp is a bigger number when fans are blowing 22C outside air across the rads then when blowing 25C air across the rads

The Hardware Installation: Expect Limitless Permutations

The glass side of the O11D EVO is slightly quieter than the Cooler Master's, while the vented side is slightly noisier. Both fall within earshot of the quiet-design Seta Q1, while the Corsair gets penalized for having more powerful fans than either the HAF 500 or Seta Q1. Now, if you prefer your motherboard to face right instead of left, the bottom panel can be removed and swapped with the top panel. One gripe is that the bottom panel's dust filter is the only one in the system and, being held in place with magnetic strips at its edges, is prone to falling off during handling. In this area, you'll also note additional square holes near two corners that allow the front-panel module to be relocated to either side. The final two accessories are PCIe riser cables for alternative orientations for your graphics card. Flexible Hardware The O11D EVO provides far too many mounting options to list in a simple features table. For example, Lian Li states that the bottom of the case can hold four 2.5-inch or two 3.5-inch drives; the side can hold four 2.5-inch or two 3.5-inch drives; the drive cage can hold three 2.5-inch or two 3.5-inch plus one 2.5-inch drive; and the cable-management bar can host two 2.5-inch drives—and that's before we start subtracting for the potential installation of a second power supply or side/bottom radiators. The actual limit stated by Lian Li is dictated by the number of screws and grommets included in the installation kit. The main chamber can house the motherboard along with the GPU and your cooling components. The case is targeted towards water cooling and it would be a delight for the water cooler lovers with ample rooms to play around.

Since it's designed to be equipped with the user's choice of hardware, including fans, the Lian Li 011D EVO presented a slight testing challenge in terms of comparing it to cases delivered with a loadout of their own fans. It overcame that challenge by flowing sufficient air in "exhaust only" mode using nothing more than the same closed-loop cooler that we'd used to evaluate those other cases. The Lian Li O11Dynamic XL Full-Tower offers a tonne of space for powerful gaming hardware. Even the huge ROG Dominus Extreme EEB motherboard from Asus can be installed with the help of an additional accessory from Lian Li. Graphics cards can be up to 446 mm in length, with CPU coolers up to a height of 167 mm also fitting. An ATX form factor power supply can be installed in an upright orientation in the left side of the rear, power supplies up to 210 mm in length will fit. Yes you have to let go of that day in 8th grade earth science when we were by chance paying attention when teacher taught us "hot air rises" ... while there is a gentle rise in an indisturbed environment, that axiom does not apply when the air in your case is doing a 100% changeover every 0.5 to 1.5 seconds. This is simple math:Besides illustrating how our lighted components look through the O11D EVO's tempered glass, our finished system photo shows just how much light can get through its side-panel vents. That could create a grand visual for builders willing to put RGB fans on both sides of their radiators as well as those installing a single layer of fans without the radiator. The front-panel light bar is powered by a SATA-style lead that's too short to photograph within the case-cable group below...

Sound testing conducted with microphone placed 30 cm from system. Measured ambient noise floor is 28.5 db. All fans set to same speeds as with temperature testing. d) Your engine compartment gas a fan (or 2) bringing air into the engine compartment ... is there another one somewhere to get it our ? As with the drive mounts found throughout the rest of the case, drives are secured using rubber grommets and shoulder screws. Remember that grille and slot covers are an important part of case air flow design ... you don't need to have a gan pushing out every cfm of air being pushed in... The quiet Seta Q1 is at a disadvantage here, since we chose to front-mount our cooler to keep that case's top-panel noise baffle in place (in keeping with the purpose of that case). However, the best thing that I am in love with this case is the side panel mechanism where there are no visible screws to mount the glass panel. All the mounting procedure is worked in the top and then is covered by the top panel that again comes with captive thumbscrews. Exterior Overall, maybe we're overthinking it. The O11D EVO's prime customers are show-system builders who regularly blow their PCs out with compressed air. You could possibly boost the case's practicality by using higher-flow fans on the bottom or ignoring the side radiator mount, but, after all, we're looking at a case that can support more drives than most people own. For builders who use the side drive mount instead of radiators, this chassis could be the best of both "show-off" and "storage."
