About this deal

My main gripe is the LED ring is rather bright, and being that it's blue, it's more prone to affecting your night vision. The picture I attached doesn't show it particularly well, but it's a fair amount brighter than the HVAC controls in my Jeep. This latter feature is important to me. When we travel as a family, it's inevitable that someone will need to charge their iPad, while another will need to charge their phone, and so on. At this point you have to buy a number of chargers, or you have to hope that a single charger can power all of your devices. At 130W, the UGREEN charger can handle multiple devices quite well. To test it out, we took it along for our Thanksgiving drive to visit relatives. The bottom line is that it didn't break a proverbial sweat when two phones and an iPad were plugged in at the same time. It also performed quite well powering individual devices. There's no drop-off with other brands I've tried in terms of the time taken until fully charged. The way USB PD works is that everything always starts off at 5V for compatibility with legacy devices that don't support USB PD, because 5V is what "regular USB" has always used. Then the charger advertises any additional modes it supports, and the device is then allowed to choose from those alternate modes if it wants them. This prevents chargers from trying to supply higher voltages than the device can support, and it prevents devices from trying to draw more than the charger can supply. So yes, it will be completely fine. Anker PowerPort Atom III (60W) : At 4.6oz, this is the heaviest 60-watt charger and it’s also the largest. It also gets warmer (127 degrees Fahrenheit) than competitors in the same capacity when running at one degree below rated wattage. Having come out in mid-2019, this is one of the older GaN chargers out there, and it shows.

Razer USB-C 130W GaN Charger review: The most power comes

As modern USB devices shift to USB-C, I knew I needed to upgrade my car charger to something that could support the full range of USB-C powered/chargeable devices. With this charger from UGREEN (from whose products I have experienced exceptional performance for a while now), I can now charge everything from phones and flashlights to tablets and laptops, plus I can power my dashcam at the same time. When I received this in the mail, I admit my wife gave me a side-eyed look...not *another* car charger! But after I explained the appeal of UGREEN's charger, she understood. First, it's a sturdy build - better than the fast charger from a top competing brand. Second, there are three charging options based upon your needs - two USB Type C ports, one USB Type A port, and each capable of a different power load depending on your device. (IMPORTANT: If intend to use this charger for an iPhone up to version 14, you'll need to get either a Type-A or Type-C-to-lightning cable.) RAVPower appears to have a different design philosophy than Aukey when it comes to exceeding its rated wattage. Where the Aukey chargers we tested could sustain wattages above their advertised maximums, RAVPower units could hit higher peaks, but then would shut themselves down after a few minutes. For example, the Pioneer RP-PC133 outputted an epic 73.7 watts (19.5V, 3.78A) on the USB-C port alone, but it didn’t last long. All that said, if you can’t fast charge your phone, it’s probably because your phone only supports fast charging at certain VOLTAGE levels and the Dell charger doesn’t support those levels. Many phones use 9V for fast charging and some tablets use 15V, but they typically do not support 20V. So if the Dell charger only supports 5V and 20V, which would be unfortunate if true, then those devices would have to use 5V and would be limited to whatever amperage level the charger provides or the device can accept at that voltage level. at 6.5A isn’t allowed. USB PD maxes out at 5A, and I’m almost certain that when you’re only using 5V, the max you can provide is 3A. And Idon’t see why Dell would have done something proprietary to provide 5V at 6.5A the way they did something proprietary to provide 130W output. As you say, 5V at 6.5A is 32.5W, but there are USB PD-compliant ways to provide that output, unlike 130W — so it makes no sense to do something proprietary to provide 32.5W. In fact it would be dumb, because any output over 3A requires using cables rated for 5A, whereas providing 32.5W using 15V or 20V output would not require special cabling since the required amperage at those voltages would be less than 3A. So 5V at 6.5A would be a proprietary solution that was less convenient than the options already available in the USB PD standard. We found that some chargers, specifically all three RAVPower chargers we tested, could not sustain their highest possible wattages and, after less than 20 minutes, would shut down. We conducted a second series of heat tests with each charger at one watt below its maximum rated wattage (ex: 59 watts on a 60-watt charger) and recorded the temperature there as well. While the total output for this charger is 130 watts, there are four ports, which break down accordingly for wattage ability: Razer tosses a 2-meter (6.5-foot) Type-C to Type-C cable with fabric rope design in the box. While the charger has U.S. prongs built in (that collapse for travel), Razer also includes two adapters that fit U.K. and EU outlets. These adapters slot into the charger if you need them and help justify the price a bit.

I love how the charger has additional "A"&"C" ports that will independently support up to 30w of charging capability so that someone else in the car can charge their device simultaneously. I have no tested the charger with all 3 ports consumed at the same time so I can't comment on if the charger splits the wattage on the 30w ports, but I imagine it probably does just due to limitations. My only critique of this chargers is that it is has a somewhat tall profile and can wiggle a little if forced, but odds are this won't bother anyone too much. Even with the wiggle it does not interrupt it's primary power connection to the vehicle. All in all, this is a great charger! When outputting either its maximum wattage or just below its rated wattage, the Aukey Omnia PA-B5 can get pretty hot, returning skin temperatures of 165 degrees Fahrenheit (73.9 Celsius) and 154 degrees (67.8 Celsius) respectively. However, if it's not pulling close to the maximum -- as laptops rarely do -- the charger will be quite a bit cooler. When we pulled just 65 watts, the Aukey Omnia PA-B5's temperature hit just 119 degrees Fahrenheit, which is in line with what the coolest 65-watt chargers. How did we choose these USB-C laptop chargers?

In our tests (using a load tester), the RAVPower Pioneer RP-PC133, delivered a full 15 watts (3.27V, 4.72A) from its Type-A port while also providing up to 54.9 watts (19.6V, 2.8A) from its USB-C port at the same time. More importantly, when we hooked the RP-PC133 up to both a laptop and a phone at the same time, it gave the laptop a full 51 watts of juice, which is better than Aukey's slightly-smaller Omnia Mix PA-B3, which gave the same laptop only 38 watts with the phone attached. Our Limited One Year Warranty guarantees that if our Genuine Dell-branded parts should fail, we will replace them. I would totally welcome a certified EE’s opinion on this, personally, for what it’s worth. Erm. Yes!
