In thirty minutes, the 21W from Anker charged a Pixel 3 from about 30%. This is impressive and on par with some of the larger capacity panels in this review. I have to say although I did manage to get the gist of what you said I am really not very techy when it comes to some of the V & Watts language and calculations. and for someone like me as a layperson, some of it is a bit over my head. The top performer was the Anker Powerport Solar 21W which managed to give the RavPower enough for two full charges of the Galaxy J6. The 7 others were all just slightly behind. Based on our testing we think you’d need around 12 hours of strong sunlight to fill a 10,000 mAh power bank which won’t be a problem in many parts of the world, but in the UK? Not very likely! It is the voltage drop-off which is the most critical part, if it drops below the charging threshold it is literally then useless, in fact less than useless because some devices will detect a voltage, open their charging circuits and then not get enough input to offset the charging circuit and so causes the device to discharge rather than charge. Waterproofing: Is the charger waterproofed? This isn’t an absolute necessity, but there’s always a chance that you’re going to leave the charger outside in the rain, or even spill something on it, so waterproofing could be a good idea. However, a few times I used the Anker solar charger to charge my cell phone directly from the charger and it only took a couple hours to achieve a full charge. I noticed the charger worked better in direct sunlight which makes sense. The Anker PowerPort 21W solar charger is very durable. It uses industrial-strength PET polymer faced panels that are sewn into a rugged polyester canvas. The canvas offers weather resistance. I did not have the opportunity to test the panels in the rain but I am sure they would hold us just fine. However, I suspect they would charge much slower in overcast rainy conditions.

However, I’m starting to get a bit frustrated now! I have my 20100 charging from my PC and at present it is charged up to 50% and flashing away continuing to charge up to full. So it’s at two blue dots. All good. Other than the technology used to make the solar panels themselves, you’ll need to think about a few other things before making your final decision: Output Power buy the Powerport2 and two Powercore 10000. These would collectively recharge your Powercore twice as fast when you do come across mains power. Two Powercore 1000 weigh the same as one Powercore 20100, and recharge twice as fast, if one of them fails you still have the other. The Powerport2 outputs 4.8A which is enough for full speed recharge of two Powercore 10000.
