Plonk your bum in one of the spaces and the body of the inflatable holds you secure – extremely comfortable if you don’t mind a semi-lounged seating posture. They are exceedingly comfortable – some people even use blow up couches in their homes as substitutes for real sofas. Price: It probably sounds obvious, but there are links to the price you pay and the quality of a product. Try and set your expectations for the quality based on your budget. You wouldn’t expect a Rolls-Royce for the price of a Fiesta so bear this in mind when shopping.

Very comfortable – nice luxurious addition to camping chairs whether it’s inside or outside the tent. We’ve owned both of these for over a year now and they have been tested out in the field, in the lounge at home in between sofas, in hurried pitching conditions when we over-inflated one of the sofas, and both have been climbed over by the dog and cat when pitched in our event shelter. The Intex Inflatable Corner Couch is the absolute daddy of the inflatable world. You need a sizeable tent to house it, but you’ll be basking in luxury once it’s up. The set comes in a fairly small box measuring 54 x 38 x 23cm – this is the great joy of inflatable furniture because you can squeeze so much sitting space into a small storage area for transport. The combined weight is 10.7kg.By swinging out the lower chamber, the sofa turns into a lounger or bed as shown above. Unfortunately it is not long enough for taller members of society, having only around 1.8m of length to lie on in a straight line. I’m more like 1.95m and so had to lie diagonally, and even then my feet dropped over the edge. Here’s the stats for each – as you can see, they are pretty similar, and both come in an attractive shade of grey with only a minor variant in colour -something even less noticeable in the flesh. The Campeze consists of three individual chambers which are physically connected but inflated separately. These chambers can then be arranged and rearranged into five different 2-seater sofa and sleeping options. For us, there were only two main options that were useful: a) the two-seater ‘high sofa’ shown in the photo above, and b) the full bed option (shown below). All the other options are basically variants on these but at different heights, and utilising different numbers of chambers. This is long enough for me to stretch out in full, and I’m pretty tall at 6ft3 (191cm). It is exceptionally comfortable and great for chilling out to watch TV or similar, or even lie out in the sun. We love the flexibility of the Intex, and for the money it is hard to beat. Punctures Even when sat together, there isn’t a whole lot to choose between these two, other than the Campese logo which defines one from the other. Weight wise the only difference is the pump – Outwell comes with a built in pump, whereas the Outdoor Revolution Campese requires an air pump. Spec wise, that’s really the only major difference. Editor Lisa Baker couldn’t choose between the sofa brands, so made the ultimate sacrifice, bought one of each and tested them in her garden for an overnight stay in the small but beautifully formed Texel 400. Also bear in mind that the Bestway is not that wide at only 1.5m – it’s not much wider than a single bed and so is really only for one adult, and maybe two children at a push.

Well – if you were hoping to have your mind made up for you, I’m sorry because there isn’t a clear winner, both of these are star performers and I’d be happy to sit on either. Outdoor Revolution Campeze 5-In-1 Inflatable Sofa Bed scored highly with 8.6/10 for price in our review.Brand: OUTDOOR REVOLUTION are obviously a strong and recognisable brand for making great Outdoor Adventure, so you’d expect Outdoor Revolution Campeze 5-In-1 Inflatable Sofa Bed to deliver to these expectations. But always consider the brand when you’re thinking about the quality of the product you’re going to buy, and where quality is an important factor to you, look only at those well known brands (of course only if your budget allows).
