About this deal

This is quietly hidden away in the specs sheets, but the EOS 250D offers a massive increase in battery life in regular viewfinder shooting, going up from a reasonable 650 shots in the EOS 200D to an excellent 1,070 shots in the new model. In live view the gain is much smaller, increasing from 260 shots to 320, but this shows the much heavier power drain of digital displays – and why people still choose DSLRs when so many pundits claim mirrorless is the future! 5. Creative Assist and Guided UI The variangle LCD screen here is a touchscreen display and the option to angle it at your wish is the best one for vloggers. The only issue with it is that we felt it could get loosened with vigorous use, otherwise there are many uses-cases for the movable LCD screen, as you won’t have to rely on an external monitor when facing the camera to see how good the frame view is. Just about everything in that list is Canon's latest and greatest, and the external microphone input is a nice extra. The one feature that's not new is the 9-point autofocus system that you'll use when shooting through the viewfinder – it's identical to what's found the original SL1, which is over four years old. You'll get a much better focusing experience by shooting in live view, which uses Canon's excellent Dual Pixel AF technology. Compared to... The fact is, if you’re into regular stills photography and you already more or less know your way around a camera, the EOS 250D/Rebel SL3 has nothing that the EOS 200D/Rebel SL2 hasn’t already got.

Michael can manually zoom his lens and look through the viewfinder and see the refults while the power is off. Remember, all of these are hand-held. The sharpness is a testament to the effectiveness of the OIS.I was rather taken with the 18-135mm lens so I ended up using most of that time. It proved to have an extremely useful range, from the mildly wide-angle 28.8mm equivalent through to a long reach of 210mm equivalent. The birds were out and I couldn’t resist trying to get close to them with the longer lens.

The main consumption is the Live View, meaning that sensor is continually On, drawing power, exposing and CPU is constantly compressing a video feed from the sensor. Enable the Live View on DSLR and their battery times are worse than mirrorless. And what you mean by "direct access"? You can't adjust exposure settings when DSLR is turned off or go to menu. You need to power the DSLR up just like mirrorless. If you mean with "Direct Access" that you can use DSLR like a scope, that is true. But masters don't even need to use viewfinder to previsualize the framing. Now, onto the video recording part. While there is 4K video recording possible with the Canon EOS 200D II, it is not the smoothest and the footage is at 25p at max. You’ll either have to keep the camera stable on a tripod or use one of those DSLR gimbals, as there is no stabilizer except the lens-shift one, which doesn’t give out the desired results, while with Full HD recording, we found it to be better and there was 60p option for 1080p videos when the file format was changed.Whatever type of photography shall you prefer, Nikon D5600 is superior to Canon EOS 200D in all conditions.

As I said, I carried this camera around for several weeks. It was so light in weight that I never hesitated to grab it. Startup was perhaps not the fastest of the cameras I’ve used of late, but at a couple of seconds maximum, it wasn’t a problem. The Canon EOS 200D II gets its power from the new DIGIC 8 processor, but there’s a lot more up its sleeve. Let’s talk about it in the review below. Canon EOS 200D II Specifications Let’s face it, mirrorless does have real advantages. There’s less camera shake when taking photos, since there’s no need to flip the mirror out of the way. Things are somewhat simpler. The lens can be closer to the sensor, allowing more optical design possibilities. The viewfinder – because it’s really just a mini-screen showing what the sensor is seeing – shows 100% of the scene, not a smaller central section. And you can use the rear monitor for framing your shots.

Camera processors sound like pretty boring things, but they’re central to the camera’s features and operational performance, and in the EOS 250D Canon has upgraded the processor to a DIGIC 8, and this appears to be behind many of the new camera’s improvements… including battery life. 4. Battery life The third software feature that we liked is the smooth skin feature, which is a personal opinion and some might not really want to use it, while taking selfies. The beautification that is seen on the smartphones would work on the skin smoothening, and that is something similar offered here. There is the 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor for the capturing, and frankly, for the time we have used the camera with both the kit lenses, the quality has been very satisfactory. Not getting into the technicalities about the performance and optimization of the pictures done by the DIGIC 8 processor, but we have used the Canon EOS 200D camera in the past and this seems like a huge jump in the quality, which can be attributed more to the camera than to the lenses.
